The dream-stalking killer demon Freddy Krueger is one of horror’s most iconic villains, and for fans who want to snag the full seven-film series in 4K Steelbook format, the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street 4K Blu-ray collection is now available to preorder for $175 exclusively through Amazon. A release date and cover art haven’t been revealed yet, but we’re expecting the box to be a gruesome delight for fans of the horror film series.
$175 | Release date TBA

While the first Nightmare on Elm Street was remastered in 4K not too long ago, this is the first time that the rest of the film series has been upgraded to ultra-high definition. Inside the box, you’ll find steelbook editions of all seven films featuring unique art, a numbered certificate of authenticity, and 3D glasses (likely for the final film in the series, Freddy’s Dead, which was filmed in 3D). Bonus features haven’t been confirmed, but we expect this collection to include much of the extra content from previous Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-rays.
A Nightmare on Elm Street earned its spot on the Mount Rushmore of slasher movies when it first debuted in the ’80s. The antagonist of the movies, Freddy Krueger, was almost unstoppable as he claimed victims from inside their dreams, effectively scaring them to death. A serial killer who struck from beyond the grave, Krueger–as played by actor Robert Englund–cemented his status as one of the greatest horror movie characters of all time alongside icons like Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees and Halloween’s Michael Myers.
If you don’t want to wait for the new 4K Steelbook collection and are fine with the films in 1080p, you can also grab the previously released A Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray collection. The set includes all seven movies on Blu-ray disc along with a ton of extra content like retrospectives, documentaries, and two episodes of the Freddy’s Nightmares anthology horror series hosted by Krueger himself. A 4K version of the original A Nightmare on Elm Street is also available.
To add to this collection, you can pick up the delightful Freddy vs. Jason on Blu-ray as well. The meeting between the faces of horror was stuck in development hell for several years, but in 2003, Freddy finally had his showdown with Jason. It’s not a terrifying movie, but Freddy vs. Jason is undeniably a fun clash between these terrifying powerhouses. Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy is also recommended, as this massive documentary examines the origins and impact of Freddy over the decades. Released back in 2010, the look back at how A Nightmare on Elm Street was created is interspersed with interviews from the cast and crew–including the late Wes Craven who created the franchise–and it’s full of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
