There are more than 2,000 skins in Fortnite. Some are based on fan-favorite fictional characters like Spider-Man, Lara Croft, and Goku, while others allow players to take on the appearance of real-world icons and celebrities. Unfortunately, most of the game’s skins will need to be purchased using V-Bucks, although there are opportunities to get free Fortnite skins from time to time.

Updated July 22, 2025, by Tom Bowen: Two new free Fortnite skins were recently added to the game. PS Plus subscribers can claim the Emerald Gamer pack from the PlayStation store to get their hands on a free Sage skin, while playing an online match with custom mutators and then getting 15 saves or epic saves in online Rocket League matches during the Summer Road Trip event will reward players with the Hairpin skin.
