Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion launches in September, and fans of the series will want to take note. With even more options for combat and customization than the first game, Titanic Scion is primed to be bigger than its predecessor in every way. Developer Marvelous has increased the size and scope of the sequel without compromising on the frenetic action that Daemon X Machina provided.
Game Rant recently spoke with Daemon X Machina series producer Kenichiro Tsukuda about the upcoming sequel, focusing on how the title expands on the combat options available to the player. He also mentioned that it isn’t just the combat that’s been expanded on, with every aspect of gameplay being revamped.

Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion’s Reveal Would Have Been Perfect With One Other Announcement
Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion looks really impressive, but one other potential announcement could have made its reveal even better.
Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Introduces New Skills and Abilities
Daemon X Machina pitted humanity against rogue AI machines known as Immortals. The fast-paced action game offered players the chance to fully customize their mech, changing weapons, body parts, and abilities. Titanic Scion takes things even further, increasing combat options and offering players deeper build variety. Tsukuda explained,
”We added a number of new weapon types, greatly expanding combat options. Players can combine these weapons in creative ways to find their own unique playstyle. Additionally, players will now choose from one to three types of special weaponry known as Particle Armaments, rather than choosing three for their loadout. Along with enhanced skills, we made this change to make gameplay more accessible.”
All of Titanic Scion’s Gameplay Elements Have Been Expanded On
More combat options are just one of the improvements Marvelous has made to the core gameplay loop. The game’s environments are now open world and can be fully explored either in the player’s mech suit or even on foot. Movement in general has been improved, granting greater player freedom. Tsukuda continued,
”The core mechanics of customizing armored suits and preparing for combat remain unchanged in Titanic Scion, but since we expanded the game’s environments to be open world, we revisited every aspect of the game, including movement and exploration, not just combat. Another feature of this game is that, while armored suits themselves can be powered up or upgraded, the player character also gets stronger through skills and abilities. Player characters possess special abilities in the world of Daemon X Machina, and we decided to explore this aspect in Titanic Scion. These special abilities and skills increase the scope of what is possible in combat.”
Having the characters themselves acquire new skills and abilities adds an interesting layer to a game that puts its mech suits front and center of the action. It seems Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion is shaping up to be full of offensive options that should keep combat feeling fresh and engaging throughout.
