All Buggy Mounts in Grounded 2
In the current version of Grounded 2, there are only two Buggies that players can unlock. They are:
- Red Soldier Ant Buggy
- Orb Weaver Buggy
According to the Grounded 2 Early Access roadmap, a lot more buggies are coming to the game in future updates. The first one to be added to the game will be the Ladybug Buggy, scheduled to arrive sometime in Winter 2025.
How to Get the Red Soldier Ant Buggy
The Red Soldier Ant Buggy will become available during the “Egg Hunt” main quest, where players will be tasked with retrieving a Red Soldier Ant Egg from a nearby anthill. Here’s what you need to do.
- Progress the main storyline until the “Egg Hunt” quest triggers, with the quest objective “investigate the nearby anthill.”
- Follow the quest marker to the Hatchery Anthill east of the Ranger Station: Snackbar.
- Explore the area to find the “Red Soldier Ant Egg.”
- Carry the Red Soldier Ant Egg back to your base and place it in the Hatchery.
- Wait 12 in-game hours to receive your Red Soldier Ant Buggy.
A Red Soldier Ant Egg cannot be hatched before receiving the recipe for the Hatchery in the “Hatching a Plan” quest.
What’s the Red Soldier Ant Buggy Best At?
The Red Soldier Ant Buggy has the ability to chop down grass and carry up to 10 Grass Planks or Weed Stems. Gather Mode allows the Red Ant to pick up anything on the ground instantly. It can attack and defend, but is only useful against smaller and mid-tier creatures. Anything at Tier 3 or above will be too much for it to handle.
The Red Soldier Ant Buggy’s running speed is much faster than the player’s, making traversal smooth in the early game. It cannot climb walls.

How to Get the Orb Weaver Buggy
The Orb Weaver Buggy will become available after players complete the “Networking” main quest in Grounded 2’s storyline. Here’s a step-by-step process on what to do:
- Complete the “Networking” main quest by defeating the Masked Stranger.
- Submit the Network Center TURBO Optical Disk to a Ranger Station.
- Purchase the recipe for an Orb Weaver Buggy bundle from the Science Shop for 5,000 Raw Science.
- Locate an Orb Weaver Egg from the spider nest underneath the lamp post east of the Picnic Table.
- Carry the Orb Weaver Egg back to your base and place it in the Hatchery.
- Wait 24 in-game hours to receive your Orb Weaver Buggy.
If your actual base location is far, consider building a Hatchery at a safe place near the lamp post to quickly hatch the egg.
What’s the Orb Weaver Buggy Best At?
The Orb Weaver Buggy is fast and deadly. It is a combat mount meant to directly aid players in high-level battles against other insects. It can emit a powerful screech to stun enemies, shoot spider webs to restrict movement, and crush smaller enemies underfoot by running over them.
Its movement speed is faster than the Red Soldier Ant, but it doesn’t have the ability to gather materials in the same way as the Ant. It can also climb Spider Webs, allowing players to get easy access to multiple shortcuts all over the map.
