PlayStation Plus subscribers can still claim Diablo 4, one of the best games from 2023, at no additional cost until August 5 at 9 AM PT. After that, gamers hoping to pick up Diablo 4, along with The King of Fighters 15 and Jusant, will have to buy them, even if they have to get a PlayStation Plus subscription later.
June 29 marked the 15th anniversary of the PlayStation Plus service. To celebrate the major milestone, PlayStation Plus gave away some awesome games throughout July, including Diablo 4 – Blizzard’s latest entry to its hellish ARPG series that was released in 2023.
Diablo 4 Leaves PlayStation Plus on August 5
However, this incredible perk won’t last forever. PlayStation Plus subscribers of all tiers can claim Diablo 4 at no additional cost until August 5 at 9 AM PT, after which they will have to purchase it normally. Once players subscribe and claim the game, they will be able to access the ARPG indefinitely, so long as they maintain their PlayStation Plus subscription. Diablo 4 also features cross-play and cross-progression, meaning fans can bring their characters from PC or Xbox to PlayStation with no issues.
It is important to note that this perk only includes the base game. Gamers hoping to make a Spiritborn character in Diablo 4 – or play an existing one created on other platforms – will need to purchase the Vessel of Hatred expansion separately, even with PlayStation Plus. That said, the base expansion only costs $40 – much less than the $70 it would normally take to buy the game and the expansion together.
Diablo 4 isn’t the only game available for PlayStation Plus subscribers right now. The King of Fighters 15 from 2022 is also free until August 5, including the Classic Leona DLC costume that dresses the iconic character in her King of Fighters ‘96 outfit. Additionally, 2023’s indie climbing sim Jusant can also be downloaded for free until this cutoff point as well.
Though these critically acclaimed titles are going away soon, a new set of popular games will immediately replace them. Lies of P, the Pinocchio-themed soulslike from 2023, DayZ, the hardcore 2018 zombie survival game, and My Hero One’s Justice 2, the 2020 fighting game based on My Hero Academia, will all be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers starting August 5. Players who pick up a subscription right now will be able to add all six games to their libraries over the next few days, making now a wonderful time to consider joining PlayStation Plus.
