A Genshin Impact fan is sharing the fruits of three years’ worth of work, showing off their stunning re-creation of Liyue Harbor in Unreal Engine 5. The beloved HoYoverse RPG has featured a wide variety of different locales for players to explore throughout the world of Teyvat since the game first debuted in late 2020. Genshin Impact has released six fully exploreable regions so far, with the seventh region of Nod-Krai set to release later this summer. Now, one fan is expressing their love for one of the game’s earliest regions.
Genshin Impact‘s Liyue region serves as one of the first parts of Teyvat players can explore within the HoYoverse RPG. Players can visit Liyue as soon as they complete Act 1 of the game’s Prologue, wandering the expansive marshes, grasslands, and mountains of the China-themed region. The region includes multiple settlements for players to visit, debuting with Wangshu Inn and Liyue Harbor and later adding locales like The Chasm and Chenyu Vale. However, the region’s capital city is the focus of one impressive fan project spanning several years.
Reddit user Kubiarts_3D shared their stunning re-creation of Liyue Harbor on the official Genshin Impact subreddit. The attached image showcases Liyue Harbor entirely re-built within Unreal Engine 5, featuring stunning realism and a breathtaking re-creation of the city. The post also features a video showcase of the entire city, showing off several iconic locations like Yujing Terrace, the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, and even the mountain paths leading out of the city. The user shares that the breathtaking Unreal Engine 5 re-creation of Liyue Harbor took a staggering three years to build.
Genshin Impact Fan Builds Liyue Harbor in Unreal Engine 5
The impressive Unreal Engine 5 build of Liyue Harbor wowed many Genshin Impact fans in the comments of the post. Several fans suggested that the original poster should be hired by HoYoverse to work on Genshin Impact, with one mentioning that the Genshin Impact developer does have job listings for a project in Unreal Engine 5. The Reddit user also shares the painstaking details that went into building the city, creating the models for Liyue Harbor entirely from scratch and even properly scaling the city using Genshin Impact‘s in-game measurements. The creator even suggested he may be looking at other Genshin Impact locations like Inazuma’s Narukami Shrine as future projects.
The stunning Genshin Impact fan project comes as the game gears up for its next major region. The next update for Genshin Impact will officially roll out the seventh playable region, with Nod-Krai serving as the first exploreable territory of Snezhnaya. HoYoverse has already teased several locations and characters set to appear within Nod-Krai, including long-rumored cast members like Alice and Columbina among others. Genshin Impact fans should have lots to be excited about with just over a month left until Nod-Krai’s launch.
