Lego One Piece – Going Merry Ship & Six Other Sets Available Now

The 1,376-piece Going Merry Pirate Ship has been the most popular set in the Lego One Piece launch lineup since preorders opened in June. The replica of the iconic ship used by the Straw Hat Pirates was designed as both a playset for younger One Piece fans as well as a display set for adults. The Going Merry would look great as a centerpiece on your One Piece display shelf.

When fully built, the Going Merry measures 15.5 inches from bow to stern and 13.5 inches from the crow’s nest to the. floor. Accurate details make this Lego ship build immediately recognizable as the ship captained by Monkey D. Luffy. The Jolly Roger sail insignia dons Luffy’s signature straw hat on the main mast, and the triangular sail on the back deck has red and white stripes. The flags at the top of the crow’s nest and stern flagstaff also feature the modified version of Jolly Roger. You’ll also get to build the sheep figurehead on the ship’s bow as well as a cannon below it.

Below deck, the Going Merry has multiple decorated rooms, including the main crew’s cabin, the kitchen, an accessory workshop, and a storage room where you can keep the four included “Wanted” posters featuring members of the Straw Hat Pirates.

The Going Merry Pirate Ship includes a physical instruction booklet, but you also have the option to view an interactive guide on the Lego Builder app. If you’ve never used one of Lego’s 3D walkthroughs, we’d highly recommend trying it out. Each step is animated on a 3D diagram that you can manipulate in any direction and zoom to see the build from any angle.

The Baratie Floating Restaurant is the only build in the Lego One Piece lineup (so far) packaged in a black box. This means it’s recommended for adults, but younger fans with experience building large Lego models could probably tackle this build, too. It also has 3D instructions on the Lego Builder app, which should help.

The 3,402-piece model measures 21.5 inches wide, 10.5 inches deep, and is 14 inches tall. Unlike the Going Merry, however, this isn’t a “full” ship. Like many large Lego sets, only the front exterior walls are part of this build. When you turn the model around, you’ll see the interior of restaurant. Both sides are highly detailed, so it can be proudly displayed in either direction. You’ll even build the full Sabagashira I ship to place at the top of the restaurant, Mihawk’s small boat, and the open fish mouth with patio seating for minifigures.

The three-story build has the main dining area, a kitchen, treasure room, Zeff’s Quarters, and many other places to display the minifigures. You’ll find a wide assortment of accessories for the figures to hold while dining at the Baratie. If you want to display the set to showcase the front of the Baratie, the entrance has a platform for minifigures. Two balconies with railings flank the entrance on the second level, and there are spots on the top deck as well.

As the largest build in the lineup, it includes more Wanted posters (five of them) than the others.

Battle at Arlong Park is a 926-piece playset featuring a destructible pagoda tower and multiple smaller builds. The main building is over 11 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and 4 inches deep.

The tower is a modular build that’s designed for destruction. If you press a minifigure firmly on top, it will break into several pieces and topple to the floor. Along with padoga, you’ll build Shark Attack and Shooting Gallery booths, a drink shack, and a forest platform. You can shoot at targets in the Shooting Gallery with multiple stud shooters, and you’ll find Arlong’s throne under the Shark Attack sign.

The Luffy minifigure here is quite different from the other ones in the series, as it includes extra pieces to “stretch” his arms during his battle with the Arlong Pirates.

Battle at Arlong Park features three Wanted posters and five minifigures:

Like Battle at Arlong Park, this 573-piece playset is designed to recreate a scene from the Netflix show: the Straw Hat Pirates’ clash with Buggy the Clown in his circus tent.

The circus tent comes with three interactive traps for the minifigures: a cage hanging from the tent, a table that rotates, and a water tank. It also has eight seats for your other One Piece minifigures to watch the show.

You’ll get two Wanted posters and four minifigures with sword accessories:

The Windmill Village Hut is a small, 299-piece scene set featuring a hut and wooden bridge, a rowboat, palm tree, surfboard, and one Wanted poster. The hut’s roof is removable, and there’s a countertop, barstool, and shelving featuring various supplies.

The set recreates the moment when Shanks gives Luffy his signature straw hat. It comes with three minifigures:

Lastly, there are two Brickheadz One Piece figures available exclusively at the Lego Store. The first is a 136-piece buildable figure of Luffy in his classic red tunic and straw hat, and the other is a 176-piece Buggy the Clown, Luffy’s nemesis from Season One of the Netflix series (and the first arcs of the anime and manga).
