In Titan Quest 2, a new challenging system called Remnants was introduced, adding yet another way for players to farm tons of weapons and gear of the highest rarity. Gear is an important part of the game, and in the previous iteration of the franchise, killing bosses was the best way to obtain certain items like Artifacts.
So, the Remnant system greatly enhances that part of the gameplay loop, and to help players understand everything about this way of farming bosses, this guide will offer information on where to get Remnants, and how to use them to reset Boss fights in Titan Quest 2.
How to Get and Use Remnants in Titan Quest 2
Every time players defeat a boss in Titan Quest 2, it will drop a special item called Remnant. These items are labeled in red, so they’re easily distinguishable from regular items. When players obtain a remnant, they need to take it to the Altar of the Gods in the closest City. Currently, there’s only one Altar of the Gods at Pyrgos Village, so players need to go there to present the Remnants and unlock the Rituals of Ares for that specific Boss.
Interacting with the Ritual of Areas in the Altar of the Gods to upgrade the Level of the Enemies doesn’t alter the level of the bosses. It is unknown if this is intended or just a bug. We will keep this guide updated in case it changes in future patches.
Once players have done that, they need to be present at the location where they defeated the boss for the first time (marked on the map with a small white rhomboid symbol). Approaching and interacting with the pillar of light (called Memory Knot) in the marked location will pop up a menu that will ask the players if they want to summon that specific boss. Each summon costs Gold, but taking into consideration that the loot dropped from the bosses can be sold (if not used) for far more than the summoning cost, then it’s a great deal.
Drops from bosses can also include Unique or Legendary weapons (Purple) that are special drops from those specific bosses. These pieces of gear are a great way for players to build their characters with the best possible stats. And since the game is currently on Early Access, there’s not much to do besides try out builds and farm tons of items by upgrading the level of difficulty in the Altar of the Gods.
Currently, there are only four bosses that players can challenge using the Remnant System: Hyppokampos, Aristomenes, Pan, and Dysepilogos. There’s no specific information on how this system might evolve in future patches, or what shape it will take in the full release version. Titan Quest 2 still has a release date set for 2026, so, unless something changes during the Early Access stage, players can keep challenging the bosses in the same way using the Remnant system.
