Pokemon GO has revealed a new Adventure Effect for Eternatus that will be available in the coming days. The Gen 8 Legendary pocket monster will be one of the highlights of Pokemon GO in August, as it will be part of the final celebrations of the GO Fest 2025.
Eternatus is a critter that, although it does not evolve from any Pokemon, has two forms. In addition to the regular form, which is the best known, the Poison/Dragon-type Pokemon can turn into Eternamax Eternatus, which players see in Pokemon Sword and Shield. While Eternatus’ skeletal draconic design catches the eye, this is not the only reason it stands out. In addition to being the source of the Dynamax phenomenon, it is also the tallest Pokemon. Now, Eternatus is on its way to Pokemon GO, and Niantic will add a new feature to make it even more powerful.
Pokemon GO Reveals Dynamax Cannon Adventure Effect for Eternatus
Pokemon GO has revealed that Eternatus will have the Dynamax Cannon Adventure Effect available with its global debut in the game. Eternatus captured from the GO Pass: Max Finale encounter will know the Charged Attack Dynamax Cannon, whose Adventure Effect can be activated with 5,000 Stardust and 30 Eternatus Candy. Once available, players will increase the power of their Pokemon’s Max Moves in Max Battles for 10 minutes: locked moves will increase to level 1, and level 3 moves will increase to level 4. It is important to note that while the Dynamax Cannon Adventure Effect is active, other effects cannot be used.
To catch Eternatus, trainers will need to complete tasks from the GO Pass: Max Finale, which will be available from Monday, August 18, at 10 am to Sunday, August 24, at 9 pm local time. Players will automatically receive a regular pass and can purchase the deluxe pass for more rewards and faster progression. As they level up their pass, in addition to a chance to get Eternatus, they will encounter Dynamax Pokemon and earn Max Particles and Candy. With the deluxe pass, they can grab even more goodies, such as an Eternatus avatar item, extra Candy and Candy XL, and additional Max Particles.
In addition to the GO Pass Max Finale and the debut of Eternatus, there will be even more activities to celebrate GO Fest 2025. The Dark Skies event will run from August 18–24, featuring Zacian and Zamazenta raids, new Timed Research, and encounters with Dynamax monsters. The Pokemon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale event will run from August 23–24, adding Eternamax Eternatus, featuring Gigantamax Battles, and increasing the spawn of 17 pocket monsters, including the Kanto starters.
