The Open Beta for Battlefield 6 recently came to a close, and the developer has shared some interesting stats gathered during the event, including the most popular class and how many enemies players managed to kill. Early feedback has been largely positive ahead of the game’s October 10 release date, with Battlefield 6 shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated releases of Fall 2025.
The Battlefield 6 Open Beta was a massive success, breaking the franchise record and pulling in over 521,000 concurrent players on Steam during its second weekend. Many have praised the game’s gunplay, squad mechanics, and atmosphere, along with the title’s overall technical performance. However, not everything ran smoothly, as some fans reported long matchmaking times and error messages, with the shooter’s party system also having some issues. Developer Battlefield Studios has now compiled and shared some incredible stats from the Open Beta, including how many hours players sunk into the FPS, how many helicopters were destroyed, and more.
32% of Players Chose the Assault Class in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta
According to some new stats revealed by the game’s developer, the most popular Battlefield 6 class during the overall Open Beta period was Assault, followed by Support, Engineer, and Recon. Almost five billion enemies were killed during a whopping 420,127,450 total matches, with players sinking in over 92 million hours of gameplay altogether. The skies weren’t safe, as nearly 10 million helicopters were destroyed and almost 3.5 million jets were brought down during the mayhem. Amusingly, Battlefield Studios also revealed that the cost of all this destruction amounts to nearly $200 billion.
Beta periods can both be fun and helpful, as player feedback can make it easier for developers to locate and address problems before a game’s full release. The upcoming FPS wasn’t free from criticism, with many asking the studio to fix Battlefield 6‘s grenade launcher, which many have deemed “useless.” Additionally, a pesky bug broke many players’ aim by messing with the title’s bloom algorithm. Battlefield 6 players on PC were also forced to uninstall Valorant, as the games have conflicting anti-cheat software.
Earlier this week, a new rumor surfaced claiming that EA is hoping to turn Battlefield into an annual franchise, similar to Call of Duty. According to Battlefield General Manager Byron Beede, the company wants to, eventually, have three studios making Battlefield on a three-year basis. While fans of the series are no doubt excited about this possibility, others worry that it will cause fatigue for the Battlefield franchise.
