The Bazaar is a deck-building auto-battler game. After choosing the lineup of cards you wish to play, you only have to sit back and watch how your plan unfolds. Due to this, it’s important to understand aspects such as cooldown and how to properly synergize a Hero with their available cards. For that, here’s a rundown of all the Heroes in The Bazaar, and what you can expect from every character.
Which Character Should You Choose In The Bazaar?
There are several Heroes available in The Bazaar:
- Pygmalien
- Mak
- Vanessa
- Stelle
- Dooley
Each character has their own specialties and playstyle, so ultimately, the best way to know which character to choose from is by trying them and seeing if the Hero fits your playstyle. Note that the game has randomized cards, so you should not only be flexible, but also try a character several times to better understand them. For a headstart, here’s what you should consider when choosing a character in The Bazaar.
Pygmalien
Pygmalien is a Hero who plays around economics. His items’ stats often scale with the item’s Value, which is how much players will get when the item is sold. While playing Pygmalien, you’ll come across items that can increase an item’s Value in combat or permanently, meaning there are a lot of ways to enhance these Value-dependent items. Although it may take time to build them up.
An item’s value is halved upon purchase.
Pygmalien’s main item category would be Property items. These are typically large or at least medium in size, so you may need to forgo small items and use only the essential ones. This merchant can play on either Shield or Heal build, as there are plenty of Properties with these properties. Afterward, use a weapon that deals damage based on Value, Shield, or Healing. These weapons look weak at first, but the damage will stack up once the battle begins.
Other than Properties and items that increases Value, Pygmalien also has plenty of ways to earn Truffles or Spare Change. Truffles permanently increase an item’s Value by 2, while Spare Change is an item you can sell for Gold. Spare Change’s selling Value depends on its rarity, but the main reason for earning Spare Changes is to enhance items that require players to sell a certain number of items.
Mak
Mak’s gameplay in The Bazaar revolves mostly around Poison. He has Potions that have limited use but are very powerful, and he’s also potent in Burn, Heal, and Regen. The top downside is that he’s not a free character, so players must spend more to play him.
Vanessa
Vanessa is likely the most straightforward damage dealer among the Heroes in The Bazaar. When playing Vanessa, you can either play on Ammo Weapons, normal Weapons, Aquatic cards, or Friend cards.
For example, players can combine Orange Julian with Katana. Orange Julian is a Medium-Friend card that gives all weapons extra damage for the fight. This damage bonus increases each time players earn gold, meaning it needs building up, but it stacks up to a crazy number. Vanessa can easily buy things from the store and immediately sell them just to build Orange Julian. Meanwhile, Katana is a Medium-Weapon that doesn’t look impressive until you see its mere 2s cooldown.
On the other hand, Ammo is a powerful type with crazy damage and effects, but it comes with limited Ammo. This means that to play this deck, you must find cards that can reload Ammo, or Ammo cards that can reload themselves. Ammo card will continue its cooldown even if it has zero Ammo, but it won’t fire, meaning it’s useless after a few uses if there’s no reload method.
Ammo resets after every battle.
Stelle
Stelle has a rather complicated playstyle where she demands players to know how to manage her Flying cards. When a card is Flying, it looks like it’s boosted up by air. Flying cards have half the durations of Slow and Freeze, and for Stelle, it means a lot more, as Stelle’s cards come with various effects when a card is Flying, starts Flying, or stops Flying.
With Stelle, players can go for a pure damage build, Shield-focused build, or Burn build. While Stelle has the ability to stack up on crazy Shield numbers, keep in mind that Poison ignores Shield and only half Burn effects, meaning Shield build isn’t effective if you know the other Heroes are playing Poison or Burn.
The types you’ll mostly see when playing Stelle are Drone, Tool, Tech, Vehicle, and, of course, Flying cards.
Dooley
Dooley is a powerhouse in a tiny robot shell. The main card for Dooley is the Core card, where it’s highly recommended that your deck be built around it, considering how powerful this card is. There are several Core cards available, like damage, Shield, Burn, Poison, Haste, and so on. You get to choose from the few available Core cards, so you can match the Core to your plan, but if the Core that shows up doesn’t fit your plan, it’s a good idea to adjust around the Core if possible.
The types Dooley will come across are mainly Core, Tech, Friend, and Vehicle, matching their robotic character.
