This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia’s Epilogue.
With the end of My Hero Academia, fans have had plenty of time to look back upon the various eras of powerful heroes and decide for themself who the strongest of them all was. Undoubtedly, All Might, especially in his prime days, stands out as one of the most powerful heroes in the whole world, not just Japan. He was famed as the Symbol of Peace and out of all the wielders of the One For All before Deku, he is the only one who actually managed to defeat All For One.
While All Might was, undoubtedly, very powerful, he is unmatchable. In the new generation of heroes, several individuals hold the potential to match or even surpass All Might. Right now, the one with the highest possible chance of doing that is Bakugo. With his Quirk reawakened and the new scientific advancements, Bakugo is on track to surpass All Might as the strongest Hero in MHA.
Why Bakugo Can Surpass Prime All Might
- His Quirk Is Reawakened
- The New Era Of Hero Equipment Makes Him Overpowered
Bakugo being one of the strongest Heroes in the whole world of My Hero Academia doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Fans know very well that he’s an incredibly powerful Hero, and much of that is down to his tenacity. At the same time, Bakugo is blessed with one of the most powerful Quirks, Explosion. This quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin through his sweat glands and then use it for combustion, which gives rise to powerful explosions.
Right now, I feel like I can even catch up to Deku. — Bakugo
In the Final War of My Hero Academia, Bakugo reawakened his Quirk, and even when he was in a near-death state, he defeated All For One, which is shocking, to say the least. Years later, Bakugo has matured far more than before and his overall strength is even higher. Right now, Bakugo is the strongest Hero in Japan. While he isn’t the Number 1 Hero, that has little to do with his strength and more to do with his behavior.
Bakugo’s Quirk alone makes him a worthy rival for All Might. After all, he matched and defeated even All For One, although he was weakened at the time, but it must also be remembered that Bakugo was battling life-threatening pain. All Might couldn’t believe that Bakugo was able to move, let alone defeat All For One.
The main reason why Bakugo will surpass All Might is the advancement of scientific technology. Bakugo is strong on his own to rival Prime All Might. But, as stated by All Might himself, technology has come a long way. If Deku’s Hero Armor can make him the Number 4 Hero, then Bakugo’s equipment can make him even stronger than All Might.
Bakugo Could Become The New Number 1 Hero Of Japan
Mirio Is No Match For Bakugo
Right now, Mirio Togata is the Number 1 Hero in Japan, and that’s very clearly established by Horikoshi. That said, Mirio being Number 1 doesn’t mean much for Bakugo’s strength. Bakugo has great power, but his attitude is poor, which is why he keeps losing rank. Even though he debuted as the No. 4 Hero, he ended up 15th not long after. Horikoshi himself confirmed that Bakugo is equal to or stronger than Mirio, which means that overall, he is the true undisputed Number 1 Hero in MHA, and that he might very well surpass All Might.
The My Hero Academia manga was concluded by the mangaka, Horikoshi, and features 431 chapters for fans to read. All these chapters can be found on Manga Plus. As for the anime, My Hero Academia Season 8 will be released on October 4, 2025. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
