This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia’s Epilogue.
Despite the end of My Hero Academia around a year ago, interest in the series remains quite high. My Hero Academia has received a ton of exciting content lately, and it’s all thanks to Horikoshi’s incredible dedication to his fans. Despite wrapping up the manga, Kohei Horikoshi revealed two one-shots, a fanbook, along with an art book this year.
Naturally, fans got a ton of exciting content from the post-timeskip of My Hero Academia, and it is safe to say that all fans loved it. Most importantly, Horikoshi revealed to the fans where Deku stands after losing his Quirk and receiving his Hero Armor. With all his latest powers, three Pro Heroes still rank above Izuku Midoriya, as unbelievable as that may sound.
Izuku Midoriya Is Behind 3 Pro Heroes After The Timeskip
Izuku Midoriya Is The No. 4 Hero In Japan Right Now
- Mirio Tops The Hero Billboard Charts
- Shoto Todoroki Is Second
Izuku Midoriya’s dreams of becoming a Pro Hero were shattered at the end of the series when he lost his Quirk in the battle against Shigaraki Tomura. In order to claim victory, Deku had to sacrifice his power, and he did just that. While he had the embers of One For All for a while, it wasn’t long before his powers burned out, and by the time his friends all became Pro Heroes, Izuku was left behind.
You can become a Hero! — All Might to Izuku Midoriya
However, all this changed when the students of Class 1-A, especially Bakugo, chipped in to make a powerful Hero Armor for Deku, similar to the one All Might used in the Final War. Finally, Deku got the opportunity to be a Hero again. While he still teaches in U.A., Deku is also a Pro Hero, and it seems that over the last few months, he’s made great advancements. Deku quickly rose in ranks, and right now, he is actually the No. 4 Hero in Japan despite not having a Quirk.
Three Heroes are still above Deku in terms of rankings. The No. 1 Hero, Mirio Togata, holds a tight grip on the top spot, and he has maintained this position for quite a while. It doesn’t look like he’ll give up on it easily. At the moment, he’s ahead of Deku. Shoto Todoroki holds the No. 2 rank, and he, too, is above Izuku Midoriya at this point in time.
Surprisingly, Mt. Lady holds the Number 3 position right now, which just goes to show how strong she has gotten over the years. Mt. Lady is incredibly powerful and impressive at the same time.
Stand proud. You’ve earned this as well, young Midoriya. — All Might
Izuku’s Ranking Will Continue To Increase
Izuku Only Recently Became A Pro Hero
While Izuku is the No. 4 Hero in Japan at the moment in My Hero Academia, fans should also keep in mind that he hasn’t held his Hero Armor for long. It hasn’t even been a year since he got his new powers, and for him to shoot up to the fourth position as fast as he did is incredibly impressive. If anything, this proves that Izuku will continue to climb higher and eventually, aim for the Number 1 Hero spot. Beating Shoto and Mirio isn’t going to be easy for him at all, but right now, they are his targets, and he will want to establish an unforgettable legacy for himself as the top hero in Japan.
The My Hero Academia manga was concluded by the mangaka, Horikoshi, and features 431 chapters for fans to read. All these chapters can be found on Manga Plus. As for the anime, My Hero Academia Season 8 will be released on October 4, 2025. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
