Masashi Kishimoto Officially Confirms Naruto’s New Kekkei Genkai

Naruto Uzumaki, the man who went on to become the Seventh Hokage of Konoha, was born without any special talents or abilities. Unlike Sasuke, he wasn’t born into a clan of talented ninjas or had any special abilities. Instead, Naruto was cursed with a Tailed Beast that tried, day and night, to take over his body to be free.

That said, Naruto conquered all his weaknesses and eventually, even conquered the Tailed Beast inside. All the hard work that he put in eventually bore fruit and Naruto gained immense power towards the end. While powers such as the Six Paths Sage Mode are quite apparent, what many fans don’t know is that Naruto Uzumaki actually also gained access to three different Kekkei Genkai in the story.

Naruto Uzumaki Was Not Born With Any Kekkei Genkai

• Only Uzumaki Women Have A Special Ability

Being a member of the Uzumaki Clan, Naruto Uzumaki was not born with any special Kekkei Genkai. Those of the Uzumaki have a powerful lifeforce and a deep chakra reserve. In that case, Naruto did have something to work with, and when coupled with the fact that he was the Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails, it is no surprise to know that Naruto Uzumaki’s chakra pool was massive. But, in the Kekkei Genkai department, Naruto had nothing.

Curiously enough, some women of the Uzumaki Clan in Naruto manifest a special ability. It isn’t classified as a Kekkei Genkai, but it’s still quite powerful. To put it simply, some Uzumaki women can manifest adamantine sealing chains, which form an incredibly powerful barrier, or can be used to momentarily restrain even someone as strong as the Nine Tails. Unfortunately for Naruto, he wasn’t blessed with this power either.

Naruto Uzumaki Gained 3 Kekkei Genkai In The Fourth Great Ninja War

One Tail, Four Tails, And Five Tails Gave Him His Kekkei Genkai

While Naruto wasn’t born with any Kekkei Genkai in the beginning, with time, he started reaping the benefits of his training and the bonds that he forged. When he saved the Tailed Beasts in Naruto, nearly all of them granted him a piece of their chakra as gratitude. This came in handy later on in the Fourth Great Ninja War, as Naruto was not connected to all the Tailed Beasts. As far as Kekkei Genkai go, Naruto Uzumaki received 3 in total.

The first one he received was Magnet Release, which was given to him by One Tail, Shukaku. This Kekkei Genkai allowed Naruto to infuse his chakra with magnetic properties and then use it to create Jutsu such as Magnet Release: Rasengan, which could seal those it hit.

Naruto also received Lava Release from Four Tails, Son Goku, and this Kekkei Genkai has Incredible destructive power which can burn through just about anything.

Finally, Naruto also has Kokuo’s Boil Release, which gives boiling properties to Naruto’s chakra, and boosts his power temporarily when used. Even Kaguya was overwhelmed when Naruto used this power.

Even After Losing Kurama, Naruto’s Mighty Kekkei Genkai Should Still Be With Him

Naruto Uzumaki had now lost Kurama in Boruto, but Kishimoto has confirmed that this power should still exist inside him. For instance, when Naruto had Kurama ripped from him, all the other Tailed Beast Chakra he had was still there. This chakra should still exist inside him, given that not so long ago, he used it against Delta. Hopefully, when Naruto returns, this new power of his will be focused on more.
