A popular cosplayer has revealed her Marvel Rivals Jean Grey cosplay, and fans of the game are praising her results. LadyOichi, a cosplay artist with over 400k Instagram followers, has portrayed many different Marvel Rivals characters including Luna Snow and Emma Frost, and now she has portrayed Jean Grey.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 introduced Jean Grey as a new Duelist. A ranged attacker, she uses fire to take down her foes and her Phoenix Force to gain mobility to target players while she floats in the air. Her ultimate ability turns her into the Phoenix, flying across the map and slamming into the ground, setting all her opponents ablaze.
Marvel Rival’s Fans Impressed with Firey Cosplay
LadyOichi shared her latest cosplay on Reddit as the original Jean Grey skin in Marvel Rivals. Her hands shoot fire into the sky, providing a sense of realism to the photograph. One Reddit user said “That’s not just cosplay, that’s literally Jean Grey stepping out of the comics. The fire effect take it to another level.” Others have commented that they thought the photo was an actual in-game model or a Blender rendering of the character. In another Reddit post that LadyOichi shared with a different Jean Grey pose, the cosplayer reflects on how she put everything together. A fan of X-Men and Jean Grey from an early age, LadyOichi decided to work on the costume herself. She says she learned how to use a soldering iron and make a backlight for the suit, as well as taking sewing lessons to put together the final piece. The post currently has 7.5k upvotes on Reddit.
The Marvel Rivals community has repeatedly shown their creativity when cosplaying the game’s characters. One fan named Cutiepiesensei showed off their Marvel Rivals’ Magik cosplay where they wielded a real-life sword crafted to scale. In-game, Magik’s sword is about as tall as the character.
Another cosplayer named Desiluted revealed her version of Hela from Marvel Rivals, complete with the character’s multipronged helmet, spiked sword, high heels, and a dark green cape. Desiluted says that most of the costume was 3D-printed, taking over 40 hours of work to finish the character.
With over 41 characters in the Marvel Rivals roster, cosplayers have multiple options to choose from for their art. Since new characters are constantly being added to the game, including the potential of Deadpool joining the Marvel Rivals cast, there will never be a shortage of cosplay in the Marvel Rivals community.
