Xbox Game Pass’s 2025 new games calendar is closing in on its final form, and it has been a great year for Microsoft’s subscription service. Each month has seen the introduction of 10+ games, including plenty of Day One arrivals such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Avowed, and Grounded 2, along with other major games coming to Game Pass.
Whether someone subscribes to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Standard, PC Game Pass, or has an old-school Game Pass for Console subscription, they have generally been kept busy through 2025. Let’s highlight all the 2025 Game Pass games, including upcoming releases that have been confirmed for the last few months of the year.
Updated on September 6, 2025, by Mark Sammut: The Game Pass’ September 2025 games section has been updated, although Microsoft is likely to confirm a few more additions for the second half of the month. While not the only noteworthy addition, Silksong is by far the month’s biggest title, if not of the entire year.
Xbox Game Pass has the following tiers:
- Game Pass Core: Primarily for online console multiplayer, but has a small selection of games. New additions are rare.
- Game Pass Standard: Hundreds of available games, but this tier does not receive Day One titles or access to EA Play.
- PC Game Pass: Self-explanatory, and generally receives Day One PC games.
- Game Pass Ultimate: Contains every Game Pass game, including Day One and EA Play titles. Subscribers can play on either console or PC. Also, Ultimate subscribers occasionally receive benefits for free-to-play games like Genshin Impact and Splitgate 2.
- Game Pass for Console: A discontinued subscription only available to people who had a membership before it was removed. Generally, it has all of Ultimate’s console games, and the tier still receives new titles.
