Sinner’s Road is an area in Hollow Knight: Silksong that can be entered via Greymoor after earning the Cling Grip ability. One of the first things that players should do upon reaching this area is use a bench, though doing so can prove to be a bit tricky. Indeed, players will find that the bench in Silksong‘s Sinner’s Road area is not functioning properly, and this guide explains how they can go about fixing it.
Players who want to start with a hint about how to fix the Sinner’s Road bench in Silksong should consider that the game frequently features breakable walls.
How to Reach Sinner’s Road Bench in Silksong
As soon as players enter the second room in Sinner’s Road, they will see a bench sign that points upward. Upon encountering that sign, Silksong players should take these actions:
- Cling Grip to ascend, and pass through the opening on the right.
- Head to the right side of the room, avoiding the poison water. Notably, it is possible to pogo on the spiked wheels.
- There is an elevated cage just before the room’s exit. Cling Grip to get on top of it, and platform to the left side of the room.
- Hit the switch, and pass through the gate that has just opened.
- Platform to the left side of the room to find an opening that leads to the bench room. There is a switch above this opening, and hitting it makes it much easier to return to the bench room.

Unstick the Gears
After reaching the Sinner’s Road bench, players should activate it by inserting 60 Rosaries. This action will cause the bench to begin to rise, though it will not be able to ascend completely until Hornet unsticks its gears. Here is how that is done:
- Use Cling Grip to climb the wall to the left of the bench, just above Shakra.
- At the top, repeatedly strike the wall to break it
- Follow the path that is revealed, using all the abilities at Hornet’s disposal to avoid obstacles.
- Repeatedly strike the vines at the end of the path to unstick the gears and fix the Sinner’s Road bench.
To note, the path to the gears is quite treacherous, and players will need to use well-timed pogos and dashes to get through it. For those players who may be struggling, the following video demonstrates how to work through this section.
There is a vertical chute just left of the gears, which players can ascend with Cling Grip. This allows players to bypass many of the obstacles on the path, making it easy to return to the Sinner’s Road bench.
