Start Dungeon Crawler Carl Series For Only $12 With This Prime Day Book Deal

If you’re interested in giving the LitRPG genre a try and haven’t read Matt Dinniman’s runaway bestseller Dungeon Crawler Carl, the stylish hardcover edition of the first book in the series is on sale for its lowest price yet–by a wide margin. You can grab a copy of Dungeon Crawler Carl for $12.52 (was $30) at Amazon. This official Prime Day deal will disappear after today, so check it out while you can.

LitRPG, or Literay Role-playing Game, is a fantasy and sci-fi subgenre featuring video game tropes like stats, health bars, hit points, inventory screens, and more. Some LitRPG series take place inside of fictional video games, virtual reality, or, in the case of Dungeon Crawler Carl, a reality show competition structured like a video game. The genre has exploded in popularity in recent years, with Dungeon Crawler Carl and a few other series becoming massive mainstream hits.

If you’re already a fan of the series but don’t own all six hardcover editions available so far, Books 4-6 are eligible for Amazon’s Buy Two, Get One Free Sale. All three hit store shelves over the past few months, with the seventh (and latest) entry slated to be published September 23. This Inevitable Ruin is available to preorder at Amazon, and Book 8, Carl’s Book of Boom, is expected to release in 2026.

Even if you’ve already read the series, the hardcover editions are worth checking out, as each one contains a portion of Backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret, a novella that’s exclusive to the hardcover releases.

    1. Dungeon Crawler Carl (Hardcover) — $12.52 ($30)
    2. Carl’s Doomsday Scenario (Hardcover) — $24.25 ($30)
    3. The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook (Hardcover)– $30
    4. The Gate of the Feral Gods (Hardcover) — $22.68 ($30) | B2G1 Free
    5. The Butcher’s Masquerade (Hardcover) — $19.79 ($35) | B2G1 Free
    6. The Eye of the Bedlam Bride (Hardcover) — $23 ($39) | B2G1 Free
    7. This Inevitable Ruin (Hardcover) – $36.27 ($39) | Releases September 23

Dungeon Carl Crawler is a quintessential example of the LitRPG genre. When bored aliens transform Earth into a giant video-game style dungeon, Coast Guard veteran Carl becomes a participant in a life-or-death tournament. Carl is accompanied by a cat named Princess Donut. Throughout the series, the duo squares off against a wide array of monsters and solves puzzles. In case the name Princess Donut didn’t give it away, Dungeon Crawler Carl doesn’t take itself too seriously. Despite the high stakes, the series frequently leans into the ridiculousness of the scenario with darkly humorous dialogue and over-the-top violence.

This Inevitable Ruin was available in paperback when it was first published back in November, but with the hardcover edition on the horizon, Book 7 has joined the rest of the series in being out of print in paperback. If you want to read This Inevitable Ruin, you’ll have to wait until September 23 for the hardcover or read the $6 Kindle ebook edition.

The cover art for the hardcover edition has a similar aesthetic as the first six books, though the formatting of the text, including Dinniman’s name, is unique to this pivotal entry in the series.

With the bonus content, This Inevitable Ruin is even longer than The Eye of the Bedlam Bride (832 pages). The paperback edition of This Inevitable Ruin was “only” 722 pages, but the hardcover clocks in at 896 pages.

It’s also worth noting that many Dungeon Crawler Carl fans listen to the series on audiobook. Superbly narrated by Jeff Hays, all seven audiobook productions are exclusive to Audible. The highly rated audiobook version of This Inevitable Ruin released in February. Subscribers can purchase each novel with a Credit ($15 each), and Audible Premium Plus members can use their free monthly Credit on This Inevitable Ruin or any other Dungeon Crawler Carl book.

The full series is available to read for no extra charge for Kindle Unlimited subscribers. Alternatively, you can buy all seven Dungeon Crawler Carl ebooks for $39. The first three books cost $5 each, while the last four are $6 each.
