    Steve Carell’s Classic The 40-Year-Old Virgin Getting A Steelbook 4K Blu-Ray

Despite grossing over $177 million during its theatrical run and becoming an instant comedy classic, The 40-Year-Old Virgin has never managed to make the jump to 4K Blu-ray. That’s changing later this summer, as The 40-Year-Old Virgin is getting not one but two 4K Blu-ray editions in honor of the comedy’s 20th anniversary, including a $45 Limited Edition Steelbook and a $29 standard edition 4K Blu-ray. Both versions are available to preorder now ahead of their August 12 release dates. Regardless of which version you preorder, you’ll find both the theatrical and unrated cuts of the 2005 comedy, along with over two hours of bonus features, making this an excellent way to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary.

    Steelbook: $45.49 | 4K Blu-ray: $29.49 | Releases August 12

Both the Steelbook and 4K Blu-ray editions include both the theatrical and unrated versions of The 40-Year-Old Virgin in 4K Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and digital download formats. They also support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and feature hours of bonus features, which we’ve outlined below. The Limited Edition Steelbook features an exclusive case featuring all the main cast members on the front and a hilarious shot of Carrell on the interior.

Preordering either version of the The 40-Year-Old Virgin 20th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray at Amazon entitles you to any discounts between now and release, and you won’t be charged until the item ships.

The 40-Year-Old Virgin 20th Anniversary Bonus Features

The 40-Year-Old Virgin 20th Anniversary Steelbook and 4K Blu-ray releases feature a long list of bonus materials. Here’s a look at what’s included:

    • 20th Anniversary Discussion featuring Judd Apatow, Steve Carell, Catherine Keener, Jane Lynch, Kat Dennings, and Gerry Bednob
    • Deleted scenes
    • The First Time
    • Tales from the Stock Room
    • You Know How I Know You’re Gay? (with optional commentaries)
    • Date-A-Palooza
    • Line-O-Rama
    • Judd’s Video Diaries
    • Auditions
    • Raw footage
    • Poker Game Rehearsal
    • Reel Comedy Roundtable
    • Cinemax Final Cut
    • 1970s Sex Ed Film
    • My Dinner with Stormy
    • Gag reel
    • Waxing documentary
    • Feature commentaries with Judd Apatow and Steve Carell

A standard Blu-ray of The 40-Year-Old Virgin is already available, and it’s on sale for just $8.14 (was $15). Take a look if you’re looking for a budget-friendly way to enjoy the film–though the steelbook and 4K formats are certainly worth a few extra bucks (and a bit of a wait). We’ve also put together a few other Steve Carell Blu-rays available now if you’re interested in checking out some of his other work.
