Seagate Has Terrific Deals On High-Capacity Desktop Hard Drives This Week

If you’re in the market for a high-capacity backup hard drive for your PC or Mac, you’ll want to check out Seagate’s exclusive deals on desktop expansion HDDs this week. Seagate’s popular external hard drive with 6TB of storage space is discounted to only $110 (was $160). That’s a terrific deal on a drive of this size. You can get even more bang for your buck by opting for the 14TB model for $200–a savings of $120 from its original $320 price.

The 6TB and 14TB configurations are exclusive to Seagate, so there isn’t a direct comparison to be made with competitor pricing. at major retailers, but for comparison, Amazon has the 8TB model for $161 (was $170). The 12TB model sells for around $260 at Amazon, so 60 bucks more for two fewer terabytes.

Save big on 6TB to 28TB HDDs only at Seagate.

Seagate also has exclusive discounts on the 18TB, 22TB, and 28TB models. The 18TB has the steepest discount ($130), dropping it to just $220. Best Buy, for instance, is selling this model for $300.

The largest configuration is the 28TB version, but you’re better off going with the 26TB. Though Seagate doesn’t list this one as an exclusive deal, the $250 deal price–$100 off–is $50 less than Best Buy’s current deal. In any case, spending an extra $80 to jump from 26TB to 28GB doesn’t offer good value. The same could be said about the 22TB edition, which is only 10 bucks less than the 26TB model.

The 6TB, 14TB, or 26TB models would be our picks from a value perspective.

Regardless of which size you choose, you’ll get a three-year limited warranty with Rescue Data Recovery Services included for added peace of mind, support for USB 3.0 connections for faster file transfers, and a straightforward installation process that simply requires plugging in a power adapter and connecting the drive to a USB port on your PC or Mac.

While this HDD probably isn’t the best spot to put games (save those for a faster SSD), it’s a good way to offload pictures, videos, and other files from your PC.

All the drives feature a minimalist design, as they’re essentially a black box with a few accents and cutouts. If you’ve seen Silicon Valley, it’s eerily similar to “The Box.” At any rate, it should blend in with most setups, and the drives are fairly compact at roughly 7 x 5 x 1 inches (on average).
