Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has a lot of secrets for players to uncover that are easily missed unless you know what you’re looking for. While these secrets won’t often hold a game-breaking weapon, they will sometimes give you consumables which can be very helpful when dealing with the many threats thrown at you during the game.
One of these secrets can be found outside of Shu Sanctum, starting with a small statue you can interact with to get a prompt. The statue will tell you to “Pay your respects before the god of Shu’s Statue to reunite with faces of the past.” Here’s what that means and how to do so.

How to Pay Your Respects in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
No matter where you’re at in the game, you already have everything you need in order to pay respects. Doing so only requires you to use the “worship” emote right in front of the statue. Here’s how to open the emote menu:
- PlayStation – Left side of the touch pad.
- Xbox – the View button.
- PC – Y
The worship pose should be the first one that is highlighted when you open the pose menu, in the top left of the menu. From there, make sure you’re facing the statue and use the emote. You’ll know you’ve done everything correctly as you’ll hear someone call out “sister” before getting an item.

What do You Get For Paying Your Respects in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?
Paying your respects gives you one Divine Gift. Despite only getting one, this item can be very useful as you can use it to completely get rid of all your built-up madness, even if you’ve reached the limit. This item can only be used at set locations, though one of them is inside Shu Santcum, up on the second floor. Since there are other items that can restore lesser amounts of madness, you’ll want to save this item and use it only when trying to dispel maxed-out madness.
You can choose to get rid of your madness by dying to a random enemy, not in a boss room, and fighting the inner demon that spawns at your death location. Either killing or dying to the creature will also dispel your madness, but using a Divine Gift can let you get rid of Madness without needing to lose or potentially lose any of your red mercury points.
