How To Upgrade Weapons In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Are you planning to upgrade weapons in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers? You do receive dozens of armaments throughout your journey. Boosting their stats further is imperative if you want to defeat tougher opponents. Our guide has all the details that you need to help you with this mechanic.

How to upgrade weapons in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers – Red Feathers guide

You can upgrade weapons via the Shrine’s Impetus Repository menu (skill tree). That said, you also need items known as Red Feathers. There are four types that can upgrade your gear up to a certain level:

    • Faint Red Feather – Up to +3.
    • Brilliant Red Feather – Up to +6.
    • Radiant Red Feather – Up to +9.
    • Lustrous Red Feather and Vermilion Ancient Chisel – Up to +10 (max level).

You can acquire Red Feathers from the environment (left), certain enemies (middle), and some vendors (right).

Where to find Red Feathers in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

The Red Feathers used to upgrade weapons in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers come from a variety of sources, including:

    • Environment loot – The glowing items you see in the environment might be Red Feathers. Be sure to pick up all the loot that you see while you’re exploring areas.
    • Enemy drops – Certain enemies might drop Red Feathers, too. These include the Blight Pot and Carrion Corpse monsters. Variants with an eerie purple glow/smoke, which are more akin to elites, might drop the resource as well.
    • Vendor items – Friendly NPCs such as Wu Gang and the Giant Panda might sell the Red Feathers that you need.

There’s something really cool about the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers weapon upgrade feature. Instead of leveling up your armaments individually, you actually upgrade the entire type/classification–i.e. axes, longswords, one-handed swords, dual blades, and spears. So, if your Axe Mastery is at +8 level, all axe weapons you wield will be at +8 as well.

The encircled nodes improve mastery for all axes.

This process is done via the Shrine’s Impetus Repository screen:

    • Check out a particular weapon type and look for eight-pointed skill nodes. These are the nodes that allow you to upgrade your gear.
    • Spend Red Mercury to unlock interconnected perks.
    • If you have Red Feathers, use these to activate the upgrade.
    • Note that some nodes have multiple levels denoted by small pips. That means the node can be upgraded multiple times.
    • You can reset your skill points freely. This also refunds the Red Feathers that you’ve used in case you want to boost a different weapon type.

That does it for our guide on how to upgrade weapons in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. If you’re curious about other weapon boosts, you can read our Temper Acupoints guide.
