The Commando is the first class that players will get to play as in Killing Floor 3. Commandos are great at mid-ranged combat, and while not a full-on sniper, they excel with semi-automatic precision fighting and can more than handle their own against large hordes that get close.
There are many skills players can unlock as the Commando, though some are much better than others, to quickly get the best build possible. This article will also focus on Commando-exclusive guns, even though you can equip any weapon on any character.

Best Commando Weapons in Killing Floor 3
The best two primary weapons you should aim to get as Commando are the Red Dot Scar, the one in the middle of the trader’s menu, and the Frag Launcher Knightsbridge, the one on the far left. The Scar should more often than not be used in single-shot mode, focused on landing high-damage headshots and saving rapid fire situations for your Knightsbridge.
While the Knightsbridge deals lower damage, its high capacity magazine and fire rate make it ideal for dealing with large groups. While grenades are a good focus for this class, having the grenade launcher can help give you an explosive option for when you run out of grenades or need a quick solution for a group of weak enemies.
The pistol option on the far right is a straight upgrade in every way, so save your money until you can get the final way.

Tips for Playing Commando in Killing Floor 3
At the start of rounds, you should focus on taking out weaker enemies with headshots to build up your Zed Time. As things get more hectic, you should use grenades often, taking advantage of the skill that refills grenades with headshots. Once you get the Get Loaded skill, it’s best to always be switching weapons and never have to worry about seeing a reload animation again.
You’ll want to upgrade your armor in the event Zeds get too close, but playing this class right should have you generally keeping your distance and not letting them get close. Save your drone for when there are groups of enemies, as the toxic clouds it makes make up for a lot more of its damage than you may think. Use knockback grenades or strafing to keep stronger enemies in those toxic clouds to maximize damage when necessary.
