Grounded 2 requires players to farm for various materials used to craft armor sets, weapons, and other gear pieces. Grub larvae are the source of some of the most-needed resources (especially Grub Hide) that you’ll need to craft early-game gear and get your first ant buggy. Unlike other insects, they aren’t found roaming around the park. Instead, they’re burrowing into the ground, and you’ll need to get an Omni-Shovel in order to dig them out and harvest their resources.

Players will stumble upon the Frostbitten chest or key while exploring the Ice Cream Cart region in Grounded 2, here’s where to find both.
Where to Find Grubs in Grounded 2
Players can come across grubs all over Brookhollow Park in Grounded 2. You may have already come across them without realizing it, as they’re the creatures that are burrowing into the ground when you first enter the park in the starting area. To get this creature out of the ground and harvest its resources, players will need to unlock the Omni-Shovel tier 1 upgrade.
To craft the Omni-Shovel upgrade, you’ll need to first chop down some Grass Flower plants to get 2x Grass Seeds. Next, collect two Spigs, which are those little two-leaf plants sprouting from the ground, especially in the starting area. Now, all you need to do is have 350 Raw Science stored up on your character, and you can head up to the Ranger Terminal and get the Omni-Shovel upgrade.
Next up, head outside and look for signs of a creature burrowing through the ground, creating piles of mud as it slithers underground. Once you’ve found one, get close to it and use the Omni-Shovel to dig it out of the ground. Now, simply attack it to burst it open, and you’ll get some Grub Hide, Raw Grub Meat, and Grub Sludge from it.
Don’t mistake a Larva (a hostile insect) for Grubs, as they have a similar burrowing mechanic, but make a lot of noise while doing so. Their burrowing animation is also a bit intense compared to Grubs.
You’ll find plenty of Grubs in the starting area, so make sure to farm them to collect a significant amount of Grub Hide and store them in your base to make future crafts easier. And that’s all you need to know on how to get Grub Hide in Grounded 2.
