A new Stellar Blade update has rolled out for PC and PS5, fixing a slew of ongoing issues found in the popular action-adventure title. The game’s developer typically releases new updates on Tuesday or Thursday, making this Stellar Blade patch a big surprise for those still busy exploring a post-apocalyptic Earth in an effort to save humanity from a never-ending war.
After releasing as a PS5 exclusive in April 2024, Stellar Blade finally made its way to PC this June, selling over 1 million copies on the platform in under a week. The release brought plenty of new bells and whistles, such as full mod support, new Nano Suits, facial animation support and voice acting for more languages, and a tough new boss fight. In early July, developer Shift Up thanked fans for their ongoing support with free in-game gifts, including some newly arranged songs and the addition of Hard Mode from the beginning of the game. Stellar Blade goodies can also now be found on the Steam Points Shop, and while the developers are hard at work on the title’s sequel, it looks like support for the first game isn’t quite finished.
Stellar Blade received a surprise update on August 3, with players on PS5 now seeing Version 1.013 and PC users on Version 1.3.0. While no fresh content is included in this patch, a number of frustrating bugs have been fixed, including one causing newly unlocked items not to appear after increasing the shop’s affinity level. Several dialogue issues have been remedied, and a quirky bug causing Eve’s hair to disappear while wearing certain outfits during the final Elder Naytiba cutscene has also been addressed. This list of fixes comes after the helpful June 2025 Stellar Blade update, which largely focused on PC issues.
Having sold over 3 million copies across platforms, it’s no surprise that rumors of a Stellar Blade Nintendo Switch 2 port have begun to swirl. In June, it was reported that Shift Up had been given a dev kit for the new hybrid console, with the Korean developer reportedly working to optimize the action-adventure game for the system’s hardware. No release date has been confirmed.
Earlier this year, Shift Up confirmed that a Stellar Blade sequel was in the works, which may be released as early as 2026. The company is also hard at work on Project Spirits, formerly known as Project Witches, which is said to be a cross-platform title focusing on “Eastern Fantasy.” The mysterious game is slated to release globally sometime in 2027.
