An anime adaptation of From Software’s Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice has been rumored for years now, and it looks like an official reveal could be made soon.
A new web domain for “Sekiro-Anime” has been registered by Kadokawa Corporation, the parent company of From Software (via Vestan on ResetEra). This was created on July 31, supporting rumors of an upcoming anime series that’ll supposedly be animated by Qzil.la, a studio that has worked primarily on short projects and opening/closing credit sequences for big shows like Chainsaw Man and Hell’s Paradise.
The last couple of years have seen several big video game IP adapted into anime, with noteworthy examples being Castlevania and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Ghost of Tsushima is also being adapted for anime, with this project focusing on the game’s Legends co-op mode, not the main storyline. Added to the game after launch, Legends is a four-person co-op mode that introduced new warriors who banded together to battle creatures born from Japanese myths and legends.
In related news, From Software is working on a new multiplatform title that could be released as soon as next year, and 2026 will also see the release of The Duskbloods, a multiplayer-focused Switch 2 exclusive. Meanwhile, Sony has plans to invest $463 million into Bandai Namco, giving it 2.5% ownership over the publisher of From Software’s Elden Ring.
The game has been expanded through multimedia projects and a spin-off, and while there’s no anime based on it yet, there is a hilarious manga series that you can read right now.
