The following article contains spoilers for Solo Leveling and Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.
Sung Jinwoo is strong, and everyone who has watched or read Solo Leveling knows that. But is he stronger than characters like Goku? While it’s always difficult to compare power levels between characters who are not part of the same universe, Goku is generally regarded as stronger than most shonen characters.
Nonetheless, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok has changed everything. The novel recently ended, but not without assuring that Jinwoo is stronger than anyone else.
Sung Jinwoo Is Like a God in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok
- Jinwoo got a new power and could easily beat Goku.
- Goku can still become stronger in Dragon Ball Super.
Jinwoo was already pretty strong at the end of Solo Leveling, but Ragnarok set a new standard for power scaling. In the sequel series, Jinwoo left the Earth to fight the Itarim Gods, beings who transcend time and space, and while he was powerful, most fans believed he would not beat Ultra Instinct Goku. But, at the end of the story, he has got a new power that allows him to defeat these divine-like creatures.
The system uses me, and I use the system.
— Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling
This power definitely surpasses any transformation Goku has unlocked in Dragon Ball Super. Of course, since Super is technically still in serialization, Goku could still unlock brand-new powers, which would allow him to defeat even such an overpowered Jinwoo. Still, Solo Leveling will also likely drop several new series in the future, so Jinwoo could also become even more insanely powerful.
Fans Were Shocked by the Abrupt Ending
Solo Leveling: Ragnarok officially ended a few days ago, but fans were mostly surprised by the sudden announcement, especially since the novel has many loose ends. When Ragnarok was announced, fans were excited that the story would address many issues raised by the ending of the original Solo Leveling.
Nonetheless, this is not the end for Solo Leveling fans. Not only has a new manhwa been announced, and probably many other stories will come to expand the universe of the franchise, but also the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok webtoon adaptation is confirmed to return soon.
Solo Leveling Ragnarok Manhwa Adaptation Returning Soon
Over the weekend, D&C Media teased on social media that the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok manhwa will make its comeback in the near future. The webcomic went on hiatus in April 2025 so the authors could prepare the upcoming arcs. Given the timing of the new announcement, it seems they were waiting for the novel to conclude.
The second season of the Ragnarok manhwa will probably start with the whereabouts of Cha Hae-In, who has been missing since the beginning of the story. However, while the webtoon follows key plot lines from the novel, it drastically changed many events, so even those who have read the novel don’t know exactly what’s coming next.
Could the Webtoon Feature a Different Ending?
The abrupt ending of the novel could be due to personal or professional reasons. Still, Daul just wrote a note stating that the novel was over, and he made it look like he ended it when it was intended to end, which is strange to most readers. Of course, even if the novel was canceled, he probably wouldn’t reveal it on the official notice. However, given that the manhwa has diverged from the source material, there’s still a chance that Daul finished the story the way he did because there are plans for it in the webcomic.
This is, of course, just a theory, and we will only know for certain as the manhwa advances. As mentioned before, Daul could have personal or professional reasons to finish the novel now. Let’s not forget that he was involved in a car accident at the beginning of the year, and this could have impacted his life more than we imagine, or he could have any other reason to rush the story’s conclusion.
