The One Piece series is the biggest manga series in the world, and for a good reason. The manga, despite its length, has been able to keep fans hooked for decades.
One Piece’s success is undeniable, so it isn’t surprising to see it get so many projects based on various ideas, sometimes explored by people other than Oda. One Piece already has an ongoing anime, and even has a remake on the way. The series already has a spin-off anime, with a new one having just been announced, and it could well fix a major issue the series struggles with.

A One Piece Heroine Anime Is Coming
As many fans of One Piece know, the biggest event for the series, One Piece Day, just took place. Fans were very excited for it, as, usually, new projects are announced. Indeed, something new and absolutely massive was just announced for the series.
A new anime spinoff for One Piece is now officially in the works. This spin-off adapts the One Piece Heroines novel into an anime.
Some fans of One Piece have already read it, but not all of the chapters have English translations yet. The novel is written by Jun Esaka and spans over eight main chapters, which tell stories of various One Piece female characters.
The characters covered in this novel are Nami, Nico Robin, Nefertari Vivi, Perona, Boa Hancock, Tashigi, Vinsmoke Reiju, and Uta.
The project is probably in early development at the moment, so an exact release date isn’t known just yet. But, fans are excited nonetheless, especially since it could fix a huge issue the One Piece series faces.

One Piece Female Characters Will Get the Focus
The One Piece series is quite the long one, and it has been ongoing, almost continuously, for over 28 years now. Over those years, Oda has created and written a plethora of incredible characters.
Naturally, Oda’s One Piece cast contains its fair share of female characters. While quite a lot of them are well-written, they are not often the focus of the story.
The One Piece Heroine anime could definitely put some much-needed focus on these characters, especially since it will not only focus on female characters like Nami and Nico Robin, but a much more diverse cast that includes less-seen characters like Reiju or Tashigi.
It’s definitely going to be interesting to see what artistic direction this anime will take. It could stick with the style of the novels, or could go with Oda’s usual art style.
Either way, this anime is not dropping anytime soon, so fans will have to be patient.

One Piece is quite a long series, and with it being a weekly anime, the number of episodes keeps growing with every single week. Right now, the anime has over 1100 episodes to catch up to, and they can all be found on Crunchyroll.
One Piece Chapter 1157 will be out in two weeks. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on August 16. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1157 is August 16, 2025.
