Saw II 4K Steelbook Edition Is Only $24 And Exclusive To Amazon

Fans of the gruesome long-running horror series Saw will soon be able to watch Jigsaw’s contestants play more of his diabolical games in 4K resolution. The second, third, and fourth Saw films are releasing on 4K Blu-ray for the first time with Amazon-exclusive Steelbook Editions. Saw 2’s Limited Edition Steelbook is up for preorder for $24.42 (was $35) at Amazon. At the time of writing, preorders haven’t opened for Saw 3’s 4K Steelbook or Saw 4’s 4K Steelbook, but both should be available soon.

Note: Amazon originally listed October 21 release dates for all three films, but now the timing is a bit unclear. After dropping the price of Saw II’s Steelbook, Amazon removed the release date entirely, making it appear as if this edition already launched (with a 4-5 week delivery estimate).

    $24.42 (was $35)

All three of the new Saw Limited Edition Steelbooks come with 4K Blu-ray, 1080p, and digital copies that can be downloaded or streamed on a wide variety of devices thanks to Movies Anywhere support. The 4K discs have Dolby Vision and HDR10 as well as Dolby Atmos surround sound. This should be the ideal way to watch Saw 2-4 in 2025.

Saw 2’s Steelbook Edition features John Kramer on the cover. It comes with heaps of special features, including a few exclusives.

    Saw 2 Bonus Features

    • Audio commentary with director Darren Lynn Bousman and actors Donnie Wahlberg and Beverley Mitchell
    • Audio commentary with Darren Lynn Bousman, production designer David Hackl, and editor Kevin Greutert
    • Audio commentary with executive producer James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell
    • The Scott Tibbs Documentary
    • The Story Behind the Story
    • Gregg Hoffman: In Memoriam
    • Bits and Pieces: The Props of Saw 2

    $35 | Releases October 21

We’re still waiting on preorders to open, but Saw 3’s Limited Edition Steelbook releases the same day for $35.

Saw 3’s cover art showcases the creepy pig mask worn by a certain character in the early movies. Special features include audio commentaries and an assortment of featurettes, including a few that are exclusive to the new edition.

    Saw 3 Bonus Content

    • Audio commentary with director Darren Lynn Bousman, writer Leigh Whannell, and executive producers Peter Block and Jason Constantine
    • Audio commentary with producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg
    • Audio commentary with Darren Lynn Bousman, editor Kevin Greutert, and cinematographer David A. Armstrong
    • The Traps of Saw 3
    • The Props of Saw 3

    • The Clock is Ticking: Actor Tobin Bell on Saw 3 (Exclusive)

    $35 | Releases October 21

Saw 4’s Limited Edition Steelbook might have the best cover of the three, as it features Jigsaw wearing the Billy the Puppet mask. Like the other two, this one releases October 21 for $35, but preorders haven’t opened just yet. Once again, special features include multiple audio commentaries, featurettes, deleted scenes, and a few exclusives.

    Saw 4 Bonus Content

    • Audio commentary with director Darren Lynn Bousman and actor Lyriq Bent
    • Audio commentary with producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg, and executive producers Peter Block and Jason Constantine

    Saw Unrated Edition (4K Blu-ray) / Saw X (4K Blu-ray)
    Saw Unrated Edition (4K Blu-ray) / Saw X (4K Blu-ray)

It would’ve been cool to get a new Steelbook Edition for the first movie, but it’s understandable why it’s missing. The unrated edition of Saw released on 4K Blu-ray back in 2021, and you can grab a copy of the 2004 horror classic for $15 at Amazon.

The only other films in the series with 4K Blu-ray editions are the three newest entires: Jigsaw (Saw VIII), Spiral (Saw IX), and Saw X. The 10th film in the series actually takes place between Saw and Saw II, so Saw X would be a good one to rewatch in the coming weeks while you wait for your preorders to arrive. Spiral, meanwhile, is a spin-off starring Chris Rock that can be watched on its own–though it’s not very good. Like Spiral, the 2017 film Jigsaw takes place well after the events of the original seven-film series–10 years after, in Jigsaw’s case–and is largely self-contained. That said, you’d enjoy Jigsaw more if you watch the original series first.

    Saw Series on 4K Blu-ray

To complete your Saw collection–you’ll need Saw V, VI, and Saw 3D–we’d recommend the Saw 7-Film Collection on Blu-ray for $20. Even if you don’t touch the first four discs, the $20 price is solid for the three Saw movies that aren’t on 4K Blu-ray. It’s not the only option, though–check out the three notable Saw Blu-ray box sets below.

    Saw 10-Film Collection (Blu-ray) / Saw 7-Film Collection (Blu-ray)
    Saw 10-Film Collection (Blu-ray) / Saw 7-Film Collection (Blu-ray)

The Saw series was a staple of the 2000s in the horror genre. A new movie released every year from 2004 through 2010. For many, the Saw film franchise is seven movies, not 10. After all, Saw 3D also debuted in theaters with the title Saw: The Final Chapter. If you only want to watch the original story arc from start to finish, the aforementioned Saw 7-Film Collection is the ideal pick for those who don’t mind missing out on 4K. All seven movies in the box set are the unrated editions.

For $25, you can get the newer Saw 8-Film Collection on Blu-ray. You’re essentially paying five bucks for Jigsaw on Blu-ray.

Fans who simply want to own the entire franchise with one purchase should check out Saw’s 10-Film Anniversary Collection for $46 (was $65). Released last spring to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary, this 23-disc set has Blu-ray and DVD editions of each movie, from the 2004 original to 2023’s Saw X. It’s roughly double the price of the other box sets, but the 10-Film Collection is the only one that has Blu-rays and DVDs. Three extra DVDs have special features for the first three films. You’ll also find four collectible art cards in the box. The discs are stored in an oversized plastic case, and the set is packaged in a cardboard box featuring one of Jigsaw’s ruthless contraptions on the front.

Saw fans may also be interested in the upcoming Billy the Puppet Funko Pop. The exceedingly creepy vinyl figure comes with its signature tricycle. You can preorder Billy the Puppet’s Funko Pop for $15 ahead of its September 27 release.
