From among Remedy Entertainment‘s illustrious library, Control: Ultimate Edition, the original Alan Wake, and Alan Wake’s Undead Nightmare have hit their respective historical low prices on Steam. It’s worth noting that all these Remedy Entertainment titles were all critically well-received at the time they came out.
Over the past couple of decades, Remedy Entertainment has made its mark on the industry and established itself as one of its most reputed developers. It is the creator of a few globally popular game franchises, ranging from Max Payne to Alan Wake. In particular, Control and Alan Wake are two of the IPs in which the Finnish studio has invested most of its time in recent years. Both of these IPs are fully owned by Remedy Entertainment and are part of its connected universe, which also includes the newly released FBC: Firebreak.
Control and Alan Wake Franchises Get Major Price-Drops on Steam
First off, Control: Ultimate Edition is available at a 90% discount, bringing its price down from $39.99 to $3.99. This bundle comes with the base game, The Foundation DLC, the AWE DLC, and all the other post-launch updates. The action-adventure game, which was originally launched in 2019, is the winner of over 80 awards and holds an 84 average score on OpenCritic. Secondly, the original Alan Wake from 2010 and its spin-off, 2012’s Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, which also received largely positive reviews from critics, also received slashed prices. While the former is up for grabs for $0.99 (95% off), the latter is currently priced even lower at $0.89 (90% off). These Steam discounts for the Remedy Connected Universe titles are valid till August 31, 2025.
Both the aforementioned games are suitable for those who enjoy third-person single-player experiences and psychological horror stories. However, fans of shooters may prefer Control more for its greater focus on combat, whereas Alan Wake would be a better match for those who like the Twin Peaks vibe. On the other hand, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is an action-heavy follow-up to the 2010 game, with a wider variety of weapons and fast-paced combat. Interestingly, Control also got an unexpected update earlier this year, adding a mission previously unavailable on PC, among other things, which might make it more appealing for those who want to finally experience the Sam Lake-written game in all its glory.
For those players who want to snag something newer, FBC: Firebreak is another Remedy title that has a discounted price on Steam right now, even though it isn’t a major one. The online co-op FPS is available for $33.99 (15% off), down from its usual $39.99. This might be a good opportunity for those who wanted to try the game but weren’t convinced to shell out the full price due to the Control spin-off’s divisive reviews.
