Obsidian Entertainment has released a new update for Grounded 2, fixing some glitches and improving the overall performance of the popular survival game. While none of these tweaks seem to be major changes, Patch 0.1.3 still considerably improves Grounded 2, offering a more stable experience for gamers.
Announced back in June during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Grounded 2 was released in early access last month. Set in Brookhollow Park, Grounded’s sequel sees the return of the core mechanics found in the previous survival title, while adding a few new features, such as the ability to mount bugs, new weapons, and fresh building tools.
Patch 0.1.3 for Grounded 2 continues to improve the game, focusing on fixing a number of bugs, including combat and UI glitches. The update also adds several “game repair” options, which can help players by moving creatures back to their original spaces or sending the Buggy back to the nest. Quality-of-life updates were also added to Grounded 2, like Snail Shells automatically despawning after 24 hours. Obsidian introduced a maximum number of saves per game world, too, to prevent performance problems caused by gamers having too many saves. Considerable improvements were also made to Grounded 2’s stability, increasing performance by 30% when compared to the previous version of the game.
It’s not surprising to see most of the recent fixes to Grounded 2 aimed at fixing glitches and performance issues. Despite still being in early access, Grounded 2 is a massive game, with its starting area being around the same size as the entire first entry.
Fortunately, more content will be added to the survival game soon. A few weeks ago, Obsidian revealed the early access roadmap for Grounded 2. The Fall Update is set to add more recipes, armor, weapons, as well as new languages, while during the winter, new monsters, systems, and a Buggy will be offered. In 2026 and beyond, Obsidian will add more Mutations, equipment, Buggy customizations, Park Bosses, and much more.
Overall, Grounded 2 had a great reception so far, with many gamers enjoying their time in Brookhollow Park as they tame insects and explore their surroundings. Soon after being added to Xbox Game Pass, Grounded 2 was already a big hit, appearing among the Top 10 most-played Xbox games in early August. Hopefully, Obsidian Entertainment will continue to add more content and fixes at a quick pace, and the title will be able to maintain its popularity.
