Game Rant can exclusively reveal a new Godzilla collaboration between Toho International and DSCO that’s set to yield a varied assortment of new merch, ranging from tees and totes to slides and trading cards. Set for a limited launch in early September 2025, the newly announced Godzilla products even include several stunning illustrations by a famous Pokemon artist.
November 3 marked the 70th anniversary of Godzilla, the towering icon of Japanese cinema and the very heart of the kaiju genre. Toho Studios and its partners hosted over a dozen themed events—ranging from special screenings and film marathons to product launches and giveaways—in the lead-up to the anniversary, celebrating Godzilla the world over. Although the iconic behemoth is only a few months away from turning 71, celebrations for its 70th anniversary have yet to fully subside, with Toho effectively treating 2025 as the year of Godzilla.
Toho x DSCO Godzilla Capsule Collection Debuting at Sneaker Con LA
Continuing this trend, Toho has just announced yet another such promotional effort, partnering with Tokyo-based collectibles and apparel manufacturer DSCO on an exclusive Godzilla capsule collection that will debut at the 2025 edition of Sneaker Con Los Angeles. The new product line, which Game Rant can exclusively reveal, combines various designs centered on the iconic kaiju with streetwear aesthetics. The new Godzilla merch collection will be available for purchase to Sneaker Con attendees for the duration of the convention, which is planned to run over the weekend ending September 7 in Anaheim, California. The products will also be available via the Sneaker Con web shop while supplies last.
New Godzilla Merch Features Designs by Legendary Pokemon Artist
The heart of the collection lies in three striking illustrations by longtime Pokemon Trading Card Game artist Mitsuhiro Arita, who has created nearly 700 card artworks for the evergreen TCG since the late ’90s. Each of Arita’s designs draws from a different facet of Godzilla‘s mythos; “Burning Godzilla” is a swirling Ukiyo-e composition that captures the raw energy of the 1995 Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, whereas “Godzilla vs King Ghidorah” references the eponymous 1991 film, in all its visual drama.
Conversely, “Noh Variant” does something completely different, offering a rare serene depiction of Godzilla with a minimalist background, a combination inspired by the traditional Japanese Noh theater, which combines song, dance, and highly dramatic storytelling. In a prepared statement, Sneaker Con CEO Alan Vinogradov called the upcoming collection “a tribute to legacy, culture, and the monster that started it all,” insisting that the lineup is “more than merchandise.”
With the Godzilla 70th-anniversary celebrations continuing into the fall, and Toho now clearly exploring new artistic partnerships, more collaborations in the vein of this DSCO partnership may materialize in the near future.
