Pokemon GO Players Point Out Major Frustration with Max Battles

Pokemon GO fans are pointing out that the restrictions on when players can participate in Max Battles is a serious problem for those with unusual schedules. While much of the game is available to engage in around the clock, Max Battles in Pokemon GO are limited to participating between 6 am and 9 pm local time.

The Pokemon GO community regularly discusses changes they’d like to see made in the game, though not all of them are heeded by the developers. However, fans do sometimes get what they ask for, with one of the latest instances of this being increasing the level cap for Pokemon trainers.

Pokemon GO Players Take Issue With Max Battle Time Restrictions

Now, however, the Pokemon GO community is pointing out that the time restriction on Max Battles can be problematic for some players. One fan called Downtown_Injury_3415 pointed out that for people who work late shifts, like themselves, that participating in the Max Battles is nearly impossible. Downtown_Injury_3415 notes that they have breaks during their overnight shift where they could use that time to participate in Max Battles, but due to the cut-off, it’s not possible. Starting a Pokemon GO Max Battle at 6 am may not be the easiest things for these players either, considering that they may already be falling asleep or in bed by 6 am.

Others fans have shared their own opinions on the matter, with some expressing similar complaints to Downtown_Injury_3415, while others have pointed out that issues like heat and extreme weather can make it tough to play Pokemon GO, and that the only decent time to play is after dark. Some have noted that this time restriction is likely in place to keep players from loitering in the middle of the night, or potentially putting players at risk – especially young ones – if they’re outside in the dark. Some have suggested simply extending the time limit by an hour or two in the evening to help mitigate the issue, while others have suggested changing the time gates depending on the type of business or property the Power Spot is attached to.

Unfortunately, due to the risk of harm, and loitering Pokemon GO players sometimes generating suspicion for playing late, it seems unlikely that developer Scopely will change how the time gate works. In lieu of making it more accessible, some fans have suggested simply hiding the Max Battles until they become available again, as seeing them on the map only to find they can’t participate at that time is frustrating in its own right.
