In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, every playable character has a unique combat purpose and mechanics for players to master. Sciel stands as one of the best damage dealers in the game, relying on her Dark damage skills to eliminate hordes of weaker enemies or deliver a devastating blow to a single target. By mastering the flow of applying and consuming Foretells to increase Sciel’s damage and skill effectiveness, as well as generating Sun and Moon charges, players can reach the Twilight state, which grants numerous benefits and increases all damage by up to 200%.

When shaping the best builds for Sciel, players need to examine each new weapon’s scaling, damage type, and unlockable perks, which could be game-changers. Below is a look at some of the best weapons for Sciel in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, highlighting their combat benefits and potential synergies.
Updated September 2, 2025 by Vlad Mazanko: With over 20 unique double-bladed scythes to choose from when tweaking powerful Sciel builds in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players will certainly want as many different weapons as possible to consider for their next playthrough. The list has been updated to include additional strong weapon options for Sciel in the game, with detailed stats, along with potential tactics and synergies in combat.
10
Hevason
Transforms Sciel Into A Deadly Sniper
- Scaling: Vitality & Defense
- Element: Physical
-
Hevasson
Level 4 | Free Aim shots can consume a Sun charge to apply 5 Fortell, and consume a Moon charge to deal 400% more damage. |
Level 10 | Consuming a Sun or Moon charge gives 1 AP. |
Level 20 | Base Attack gives 1 Moon charge. |
Hevason might not be the best melee weapon for Sciel, yet it’s hard to ignore the sweet bonus of dealing 400% more damage with Free Aim Shots. Granted, the ability to shoot isn’t as life-saving later in the game. But if players acquire Hevason early, they can shape Sciel into a deadly sniper, further enhancing the potential of shooting with Pictos and Lumina. Given how many early-game Pictos can boost shot effectiveness with additional effects like Marks, with the right setup, Hevason can deliver spectacular results.
Gaining an extra AP (action point) by consuming charges at Level 10 is valuable and can extend Sciel’s shooting capabilities. However, in the late game, Hevason may be worth trading for a more powerful option. Its Level 20 perk is underwhelming and forces players to rely on base attacks to gain benefits. Additionally, the weapon’s weird appearance might not appeal to all players.
9
Corderon
- Scaling: Defense & Luck
- Element: Dark
-
Corderon
Level 4 |
Curse self on battle start. Deal 50% more damage while Cursed. |
Level 10 |
Reset Curse duration when entering Twilight state. |
Level 20 |
Play again when entering Twilight state. |
Corderon is a notable weapon for experienced players in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 due to its risk-reward Cursed synergy, which requires players to consistently enter Twilight state to reset the status’s duration. Otherwise, Sciel will die automatically at the end of it. However, if players can successfully maintain the rotation of Twilight state, they not only gain a substantial 50% bonus to all damage but also an extra turn every time they enter Twilight.

How to Get Every Weapon in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
There are dozens of weapons to collect and use in battle throughout Clair Obscur Expedition 33’s 30-hour story.
That said, while Corderon’s perks are quite strong, this weapon’s base damage is notably weaker than that of many other available options. Combined with the tricky mechanics of staying Cursed throughout the battle and the risk of dying, players may prefer to prioritize another Sciel weapon unless they are seeking uniqueness and build variety for subsequent runs.
8
Gobluson
Great For Crowd Control
- Scaling: Defense & Agility
- Element: Fire
-
Gobluson
Level 4 |
During Twilight, every time Foretell is applied, it also affects another random enemy. |
Level 10 |
Apply 1 Burn every 3 Foretell applied with Skills. |
Level 20 |
20% increased Fire damage with Skills. |
Gobluson is among the best Sciel weapons when dealing with numerous enemies or bosses that keep summoning additional foes throughout the battle. With its strong perk synergy, players can apply Foretell and Burn to additional enemies during Twilight, which can then be used effectively to dispatch them quickly with Sciel or any other character, while also allowing Sciel to build charges more easily or trigger various Pictos effects.
As with many weapons, the Level 20 perk is somewhat underwhelming, adding only 20% of Fire damage dealt by Skills. This sounds decent until considering that very few of Sciel’s skills actually deal Fire damage. In any case, even without this perk, Gobluson can still be utilized very effectively in many combat scenarios in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
7
Lusteson
Forget The Light, Embrace The Dark
- Scaling: Vitality & Agility
- Element: Dark
-
Lusteson
Level 4 |
Killing an enemy with Foretell applies its Foretell to another random enemy. |
Level 10 |
Apply Mark on consuming Foretell. |
Level 20 |
20% increased Dark damage with Skills. |
Lusteson is an excellent choice for Sciel when facing multiple strong enemies at once. With this weapon, every Foretell that would otherwise be lost transfers to another enemy instead, saving the effort of applying them from scratch. Additionally, at Level 10, Lusteson applies a Mark on enemies after consuming a Foretell, so it makes things easier for the characters who come after.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – Best Maelle Weapons, Ranked
For those looking to make the most of Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, here are the best weapons available to her.
Lusteson’s primary Dark element, combined with a 20% increase in Dark damage from skills, makes Sciel nearly unstoppable against enemies vulnerable to Dark damage. However, it becomes less effective against enemies resistant to Dark damage, unless players use Pictos to convert all damage types.
6
Martenon
It’s All About Twilight
- Scaling: Vitality & Agility
- Element: Earth
-
Martenon
Level 4 |
On Twilight Start, deal damage to all enemies based on the amount of charges. |
Level 10 |
On Twilight Start, apply 2 Foretell per charge to all enemies. |
Level 20 |
Double Sun and Moon charge generation. |
Martenon is all about Twilight, so players need to find a way to enter this enhanced state for Sciel as quickly as possible to capitalize on this weapon’s strong perks. Upon entering Twilight, Sciel applies two Foretells per charge to all enemies and also deals damage to all enemies based on the number of Sun and Moon charges. All that’s left is to hit enemies with something powerful to consume Foretells for increased damage, and the Dark Wave skill can get the job done.
The double Sun and Moon charge generation, even outside of Twilight, is just a cherry on top for the Level 20 Martenon. It offers a strong benefit for Sciel at all times if players, for some reason, can’t trigger the Twilight state quickly enough.
5
Guleson
Perk Synergy That Is Hard To Resist
- Scaling: Agility & Luck
- Element: Lightning
-
Guleson
Level 4 |
On Twilight Start, apply Mark to all enemies. |
Level 10 |
Hitting a Marked enemy during Twilight doesn’t remove Mark. |
Level 20 |
Apply 3 Foretell on applying Mark. |
Another potent choice among Sciel weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Guleson offers strong synergy with its perks while also being a somewhat rare Lightning-dealing weapon with attractive scaling. With this one, combat tactics are straightforward: players just need to ensure they can reach Twilight state with Sciel quickly and use at least the Level 20 version of Guleson to apply both Mark for increased damage and other bonuses, as well as 3 Foretell for extra damage and charge generation to all enemies.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33: All Monoco Weapons, Ranked
Monoco stands as the most unique playable character, and his weapons are equally amazing, capable of greatly boosting the strength of his skills.
The best thing about Guleson is the abundance of skills, Pictos, and weapon perks that can be synergized with Mark for an even more devastating result. Using Sciel to Mark enemies while keeping Mark applied even when hitting them can set up a perfect opportunity to quickly finish off survivors with any party member whose turn comes next.
4
Moisson
Moon, Sun, Twilight — Be Stronger No Matter What
- Scaling: Agility & Luck
- Element: Physical
-
Moisson
Level 4 |
During Twilight, all damage dealt is converted to Dark damage. |
Level 10 |
20% increased Dark damage with Skills. |
Level 20 |
Apply Shell during Moon, Powerful during Sun, and Rush during Twilight. |
Moisson is another strong contender for Sciel, especially for players who prioritize Sciel’s powerful skills above all else. Unlike Martenon, Moisson isn’t focused on Twilight. This weapon grants 20% increased Dark damage with skills at all times and provides passive buffs to Sciel in any state: Shell during Moon, Powerful during Sun, and Rush during Twilight, ensuring players grow stronger continuously.
During Twilight, Moisson’s physical damage is converted to Dark, meaning all of Sciel’s skills and attacks deal Dark damage exclusively. Like Lusteson, Moisson shares the weakness of being less effective against enemies resistant to Dark damage without a workaround, such as the Painter Picto.
3
Tisseron
- Scaling: Defense & Agility
- Element: Lightning
-
Tisseron
Level 4 |
Extend Twilight by one turn on using a Moon Skill, 50% Twilight damage increase on using a Sun Skill. |
Level 10 |
Twilight duration is increased by 1 Turn. |
Level 20 |
Play again when entering Twilight state. |
Tisseron is among the best weapons for Sciel due to its varied and strong perks at every upgrade stage. Great scaling and a Lightning element are a potent combo, but that’s just the start for Tisseron. With this weapon’s multipurpose perks, Sciel gains extended Twilight duration by one or even two turns (requires a Moon Skill), and increased Twilight damage through Sun Skills. She can even gain a second turn instantly upon entering the Twilight state.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33: Best Lune Weapons, Ranked
Players curious about the best weapons for Lune in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 may want to start with the following weapons.
To compensate for the extra turn, however, Tisseron’s Power value is notably lower than that of Sciel’s other weapons, placing it alongside Charnon. However, this isn’t a significant issue given all the strong perks and synergies. When building around Tisseron, the main challenge is addressing the lack of AP. Players need to equip Pictos and Lumina to make up for it, ensuring the second turn in Twilight isn’t wasted but instead serves as the final chord in Sciel’s electrified death symphony.
2
Charnon
An Ultimate Late-Game Void Weapon
- Scaling: Defense & Luck
- Element: Void
-
Charnon
Level 4 |
100% Critical Chance during Twilight. |
Level 10 |
Apply 1 Foretell on Critical hit. |
Level 20 |
20% increased damage for each consecutive turn without taking damage, stack up to 5 times. |
Charnon is a special Sciel weapon from every angle. It’s the only weapon for Sciel that comes with the Void element by default — arguably the strongest damage type in the game, typically only available to Painters. Second, Charnon eliminates the need to boost Critical Hit Chance for Sciel, as every hit during Twilight is critical (+50% damage), while also applying one Foretell as a bonus.
However, all of that is just an appetizer. The real deal with Charnon is its Level 20 perk, which can boost all damage dealt by Sciel by up to 100%. To benefit from it, though, players must master dodging and parrying to avoid damage. All of the above make Charnon an ultimate late-game weapon for Sciel, delivering impressive damage results. If that sounds too good, there’s a catch: like Tisseron, Charnon’s Power is lower compared to other options. Last but not least, Charnon is not only one of the strongest Sciel weapons available in Expedition 33, but also one of the most beautiful.
1
Blizzon
As Strong As It Looks, And Then Some
Level 4 |
While having at least 1 active Moon charge, Moon Skills are always Critical hits, but damage taken is doubled. |
Level 10 |
25% increased damage per Moon charge. |
Level 20 |
Base Attack gives 1 Moon charge. |
Not to be confused with Blizzcon, Blizzon is among the most visually impressive weapons for Sciel in Expedition 33. Wielding a giant icicle in combat is a prize in itself, but Blizzon is far more than just for show. Not only are all Moon skills always critical hits while Sciel has at least one active Moon charge, but Blizzon also grants a 25% increase in damage per Moon charge. With its Level 20 perk active and combined with Combo Attack Pictos, players can easily achieve a 50% to 75% damage increase from the first base attack. On top of that, Blizzon offers some of the highest Power values among Sciel’s weapons in the game.

On the downside, Blizzon won’t suit players who struggle to execute dodges and parries, as all damage taken by Sciel is doubled when using this unforgiving weapon. This makes Blizzon almost a twin to Charnon. Both weapons can significantly boost damage, but only in the right hands, making them demanding but rewarding weapon choices for Sciel.
