The majority of cosmetics, weapons, and other equipment in Helldivers 2 are locked behind Warbonds, which are essentially the game’s version of a battle pass-style progression system. One Warbond is free, but the rest can only be unlocked by either spending Super Credits or using Warbond Tokens.
Warbond Tokens grant players access to any of the premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2 without having to spend any Super Credits. However, these things aren’t free, and if you want to get one, you’ll still have to pay a price.
Where to Get Warbond Tokens in Helldivers 2
As of writing, the only way to get a Warbond Token is to either purchase the Super Citizen Edition of Helldivers 2 or upgrade the Standard version of the game into the Super Citizen one. The latter can be done via your respective platform’s game store.
After you purchase or upgrade to the Super Citizen Edition, you’ll get a purple skull reward from the Ministry of Prosperity in Helldivers 2. If you don’t get the purple skull reward the moment you upgrade to the Super Citizen Edition, try restarting your game.
How to Use Warbond Tokens
If you have a Warbond Token available, you should be able to use it via the Requisitions menu. Select any Premium Warbond that you want to get, then press the “Claim Premium Warbond” button on the lower-right side of the screen. Doing so will consume the token, but not your Super Credits.
Claiming a Warbond with a token will simply unlock it. You’ll still need to farm Medals if you want to get the items within your chosen Warbond.
Is the Super Citizen Edition Worth Getting?
This version of the game comes with the following bonuses:
- A unique armor set (with a matching cape)
- The MP-98 Knight SMG
- Super Citizen title
- Stratagem Hero minigame in the Super Destroyer
- Premium Warbond Token
When the game first launched, the Super Citizen Edition offered free access to the Steeled Veterans Warbond. Later on, this was replaced with a Warbond Token, allowing players who already owned the Steeled Veterans Warbond to upgrade their game edition without wasting a bonus.
To answer the question, the Super Citizen Edition’s value is subjective. Apart from the Warbond Token, the Knight SMG is the only item here with practical value, so it might not be worth getting unless you really want that weapon and the unique armor set that the Super Citizen Edition features.
