Undisputed’s Next Update Will Include Some Major Changes

Undisputed developer Steel City Interactive has given fans an early look at the game’s next patch, which is expected to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam next week. Although it’s only been two weeks since the last major Undisputed update was released, Steel City looks to have cooked up another big patch as the studio reveals some major changes and bug fixes for next week’s update.

After months of silence from Steel City Interactive, the studio is now deploying new Undisputed updates regularly. While the last major patch launched on June 26, Steel City has released numerous hotfixes in the days after, and now it has confirmed that another significant update is inbound for next week. Undisputed‘s 1.4 update introduced several much-needed improvements to the controversial boxing game, including three new boxers, a new multi-queue matchmaking feature, and numerous bug fixes and quality-of-life enhancements. However, there are still some pretty big complaints from the community, which Steel City looks to be addressing in the next update.

Undisputed seeks to bring a new boxing franchise to life, but its post-launch support doesn’t bode well for the game’s future.

In a new post on the official Undisputed Discord, a Steel City Interactive employee gave fans a sneak peek at the game’s next update. The studio says the update is expected to arrive as early as next week and will include a long list of gameplay improvements and bug fixes. One of the most notable adjustments will be to the game’s punch tracking, as Steel City says it has addressed a bug that was causing major issues. Once the update is released, the studio says that punch tracking should be “notably better.” Fans can also expect some big changes to Undisputed‘s power punches, as the studio says recovery time will be longer if a power punch is missed or blocked.

Undisputed’s Next Update Looks Like a Big One

The final gameplay update coming to Undisputed next week is the return of flash knockouts. Steel City previously removed the feature from the game, but now says it has reevaluated and reworked the system to reflect in-ring momentum better. According to the studio, the chances of players being knocked down or dazed will now be more closely tied to successful power punches, counter punches, and critical combos. Flash knockouts, on the other hand, will specifically be tied to successful power and counter-power punches, particularly when the opponent is running low on stamina.

Alongside plenty of other bug fixes and improvements, fans will also find some stat improvements to Andy Ruiz, one of the many boxers added with Undisputed‘s new Mexican Monster DLC pack. Shortly after the pack’s release, fans quickly noticed that Ruiz’s punch speed was incredibly slow. Thankfully, Steel City has worked quickly to address this issue, and the former Heavyweight champ will have his punch speed increased with next week’s update, as well as an updated in-game rating.
