Amazon started carrying Nintendo Switch 2 games for the first time a few weeks ago, but the console itself and many of the official accessories weren’t available to purchase. Now, during its annual Prime Day sale, Amazon has finally stocked the Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle for $500 and the console on its own for $450. Unfortunately, neither model is readily available to purchase. Instead, customers can request an invitation to purchase the Switch 2. Amazon notes that the Switch 2 is a “high-demand item with limited quantities.”
The arrival of the store listings for the Switch 2 comes more than a year after Amazon stopped selling all first-party Nintendo games and hardware. Amazon has also (partially) updated its Nintendo store page to display some newer titles, though it’s still missing Switch 2 products.
Nintendo’s new and upcoming Switch 2 games are now available to buy from Amazon for the first time, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Mario Kart World, Switch 2 Editions of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and more. Though published by Square Enix, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD, a Switch 2-exclusive remaster of the hit 3DS RPG, had been absent from Amazon until recently, too.

You can also preorder the Switch 2 Editions of Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV and Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World. A few of the new Legend of Zelda and Street Fighter 6 Amiibo figures are available from Amazon, too.

Neither Amazon nor Nintendo has ever commented on what led to the removal of all first-party Nintendo products from sale at the online retail giant. Amazon stopped selling Nintendo Switch games in early 2024. Before long, all of Nintendo’s most popular games, official accessories, and even Switch Online subscriptions were removed from sale. This also happened at Walmart around the same time, but Walmart and Nintendo resolved their differences before the holiday season.

Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners can save on a wide selection of games and accessories this week. Amazon has a bunch of third-party games for steep discounts as well as controllers and other gear for the lowest prices of the year. For first-party Nintendo games, you’ll find a bunch of Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, and other exclusives on sale at Woot, the Amazon-owned discount shop.
Amazon competitors such as Walmart, Target, and Best Buy are hosting big sales this week, too. A handful of rarely discounted Nintendo games are featured in those sales. Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights; several of these games received free Nintendo Switch 2 performance updates, including Super Mario Odyssey and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
