Zenless Zone Zero contains a big roster of A-Rank and S-Rank characters. These units have mechanics that set them apart from each other, but that also create a difference in power and utility between them. With every game that heavily relies on combat, it’s natural for people to wonder who’s the best among its characters. For that, this ZZZ tier list will continuously rank every character in Zenless Zone Zero.

ZZZ Tier List Character Update
ZZZ 2.1 Update
Yuzuha is a powerful support for Anomaly teams. With the current meta mostly leaning towards the Anomaly gameplay, she easily earns the S-Tier ranking in the ZZZ tier list.

Yuzuha Team Composition Guide In Zenless Zone Zero
As a support that can grant Anomaly-related boosts, Yuzuha’s teams in Zenless Zone Zero will consist of Anomaly damage dealers.
Previous Changes
Miyabi is easily one of the best characters in ZZZ thanks to her swift Frost hits and massive DMG. Although she needs some building up to play with, as long as players understand her pattern and how to unleash her best move, Miyabi can destroy everything on the battlefield.
Yixuan is a Void Hunter-level investigator, so it’s no surprise that her strength is comparable to Void Hunter Miyabi. In combat, players can use her as an on-field DPS or a quick-swap DPS. Most of Yixuan’s hits take a few seconds to cast, meaning that players can swap to another character in this small window. Of course, the quick-swap playstyle is harder to master, as players must understand how to maximize Yixuan’s field time and not play with other characters for too long.
Astra Yao is a prime universal Support who works with Anomaly, Rupture, and Attack Agents. Her ATK buff can be applied effortlessly, and she also enables easy Quick Assist to make a smooth switch and trigger more DMG.
Trigger operates as an off-field Stun character in Zenless Zone Zero. Just like Pulchra, she coordinates her attacks with the active character to deal a high amount of Aftershock DMG. It’s extremely easy to trigger her off-field attacks, and she won’t need to come back on the field anymore. On the other hand, unlike Pulchra, Trigger’s gameplay and mechanics aren’t closely tied to Aftershock, making her a versatile Stun unit that can join any team and do great, especially because of her high Daze Multiplier.
Although Ju Fufu is a ZZZ Stun character, she excels in supporting her team. She’s a great choice when you’re playing a DPS that depends on Crit DMG. Her performance is strong and steady, but not on the level of Lighter and Trigger.
Like Burnice, Vivian is an off-field Anomaly builder. She can enable frequent Disorder with minimum field time, making her the perfect sub-DPS.
Caesar‘s kits feel like the definition of Defense Agent ceased to exist. Not only amazing protection, Caesar also grants crazy buff and debuff. The developer also decided to make her scale with Impact, which allows her to easily stun the enemies. As if that’s not enough, Caesar has a way to crowd control as well, which collects small enemies in one spot. All of this easily makes the head of the Sons of Calydon stand at the top of the support tier list.
Lighter is a Stun Agent with notable buffs in his kit. He works best with Fire and Ice characters, and considering there are many powerful units with this attribute, it automatically places him high on the ZZZ tier list.

Best Lighter W-Engines In Zenless Zone Zero
The following are the best weapons for Lighter in Zenless Zone Zero.
Yanagi‘s specialty is triggering Disorder, where she can activate the effect without applying Shock on top of another Anomaly. Instead, as long as the enemy is currently affected by an Anomaly, Yanagi can easily trigger Disorder. This makes her the perfect teammate for Miyabi in ZZZ.
Evelyn is a strong Attack character who uses the Fire element in Zenless Zone Zero. She mostly depends on her Chain Attacks and Ultimate to deal DMG because of the insane buff both skills get from her Additional Ability, which can reach up to 125% extra DMG. What adds more to her DPS is her Basic Attack’s passive that consumes all her Burning Tether points to trigger an attack that scales with her Chain Attack’s DMG.
Unfortunately, it’s not all positive for Evelyn. She suffers from some cons, like not having enough characters that can pair with her mechanics. She needs some specific characters to boost her gameplay, or else she won’t be at her best. She also has a Crit Rate requirement that forces players to compromise when building Evelyn in Zenless Zone Zero. But even with all that, Evelyn is still good enough to share the top with other DPS units in Zenless Zone Zero.
Hugo is an Attack Agent that only enters the field when the enemy is Stunned. He’ll deal massive DMG, end the enemy’s Stun instantly, and restore some of the Daze bar. This quick-swap playstyle means players can focus less on Hugo and more on stunning enemies with on-field Stun Agents like Lighter or Lycaon.
Burnice is a Sub-DPS in ZZZ, given her playstyle requires players to use her hold Basic Attack, then hold EX Special Attack, then switch out. Burnice not only builds up Burn quickly, but she can also continue building up Burn off-field, making it easier to trigger Disorder.
Lycaon is an Ice unit with a Stun specialty. He mostly relies on his charged Basic and EX Special Attacks to apply Ice and Daze on enemies. What makes Lycaon so good is his ability to reduce enemies’ resistance to Ice while increasing allies’ DMG on the stunned enemy, which makes him a must-have in any Ice team in Zenless Zone Zero.
Nicole is a nice Ether Support in Zenless Zone Zero. She can greatly shred enemies’ DEF and increase the team’s Ether DMG. This makes her the perfect support for Burst Ether DPS like Zhu Yuan and Yixuan. However, she does fall short as a universal buffer.
Soukaku is a great Support in Zenless Zone Zero. She mainly operates as a buffer who can increase the DPS’s ATK stat, based on her own ATK. When Soukaku is matched with other Ice units like Ellen or Lycaon, she grants them an extra Ice buff that makes her one of the best buffers in Zenless Zone Zero.
With the right team, Soldier 0 Anby can reach the potential of a top-tier DMG dealer in Zenless Zone Zero. 5-star Anby can control the field with her massive DPS and keep triggering Aftershock after another. Although her AoE isn’t as big as Miyabi’s, she’s still capable of attacking multiple targets at once and marking them with her Silver Star passive. What puts Silver Soldier Anby below the best 5-star characters in Zenless Zone Zero is that she needs a little time to build up her stack, making her less effective when compared to pure power like Miyabi or Yixuan.
Zhu Yuan is an excellent DPS in ZZZ who deals DMG swiftly with her Shotshells. She works well with practically any Stun and Support characters. However, when she’s out of Shotshells, her DMG drops significantly, making her less reliable compared to the S-Rank DPS.
Qingyi is a universal Stunner who works in any squad that has an Attack Agent in it. Her movements are fluid, and she can quickly build up Daze with her Basic Attack spam. Additionally, Qingyi can also apply a massive DMG multiplier when the enemy is stunned, far higher than Lycaon and Koleda. However, she’s restricted to only Attack DPS and doesn’t work with Anomaly or Rupture DMG-dealers. Additionally, most Attack Agents already have their best teammates, so even though Qingyi is a universal support, she has to settle into this position.
Jane Doe is like the better version of Piper in ZZZ. This is mostly thanks to her ability to Crit her Assault Anomaly, placing her DMG far greater than the Sons of Calydon lady. Although Anomaly is generally slower compared to pure DPS, Jane Doe’s powerful Assault potential places her in a spot equal to both Zhu Yuan and Ellen.
Ellen is an Attack Agent that relies on the Ice element to deal DMG in Zenless Zone Zero. Her amazing synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku is one of the main reasons why she performs well in ZZZ. When Ellen makes it to the field after Lycaon stunned enemies and Soukaku gives her a huge buff, she hits hard with each one of her hits, especially her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates. Sadly, she’s not as widely used as when she was first released due to the powercreeping done by Miyabi.
Harumasa is an S-Rank Agent in Zenless Zone Zero that was given for free at one point. He’s an Electric-Attack character that needs specific conditioning before he can unleash his powerful hits.

Best Yuzuha W-Engines In Zenless Zone Zero
Yuzuha’s needs for specific stats like Anomaly Mastery make it difficult to get W-Engine alternatives in Zenless Zone Zero.
Lucy is a Support unit that can deal off-field DMG. With her Guard Boars, she can apply a decent ATK% buff to the entire team that lasts up to 15 seconds while continuously dealing off-field DMG. Her DPS increases if Lucy synergizes with another character in Zenless Zone Zero to activate her Additional Ability.
Pan Yinhu is only viable as a support for Rupture Agent. However, he fulfilled this role perfectly. As of version 2.0, Pan Yinhu can settle comfortably in A-Tier thanks to what he can offer Yixuan, but this may change in the future when ZZZ release a specific support for Rupture DPS.
While 5-star Anby also depends on the Aftershock mechanics, she’s still capable of carrying her own without the help of Pulchra. Meanwhile, Pulchra suffers when she’s not paired with characters who deal Aftershock DMG, making her a very niche character in Zenless Zone Zero. Pulchra becomes a far better support after unlocking her final Mindscape Cinema (M6). On the other hand, when Pulchra is paired with Aftershock characters in Zenless Zone Zero, she becomes a very strong and useful Stun character. Pulchra can deal a lot of Aftershock DMG while barely spending any field time since she can hit enemies and stun them while she’s off-field.
As a Support, Rina deals a good amount of DMG while giving her allies PEN, which is the ability to ignore enemies’ defense. Her high DMG comes from her requirement to share a portion of her PEN with her allies, which makes it a priority to build Rina with PEN Ratio in Zenless Zone Zero. Additionally, Rina is also good at building Shock Anomaly and buffing Shock reactions. That makes her a valuable ally to Electric characters who benefit from applying Shock on enemies.
Although Piper’s entire kit can be reduced to her EX Special Attack only, it’s still one of the best attacks in Zenless Zone Zero. Once Piper starts spinning, nothing will stop her until she triggers Assault and builds around another 80% Physical Anomaly for the next Assault. This style of gameplay works perfectly if she is matched with other Anomaly units to create a steady occurrence of Disorder.
Soldier 11 is a simple character to play in Zenless Zone Zero. While she deals tons of DMG, Soldier 11 is as straightforward as it gets with her mechanics. When activating her Chain Attack, Ultimate, or EX Special Attack, her Basic Attacks become infused with Fire. You can still infuse her Basic Attacks with Fire by properly timing your hit, but it’s not worth it since you can easily bypass it with one EX Special Attack hit. Unless, of course, you’re looking for a fun challenge.
The process of building Anomaly on enemies might look slow and unrewarding until you meet Grace, a strong Anomaly character in Zenless Zone Zero. Grace has the ability to quickly Shock enemies, which triggers a continuous decent DMG each time you hit them with Grace or other characters. Also, if you match Grace with other characters that are good at building Anomalies, you can trigger Disorder, which can hit really hard. Although Grace is still highly relevant for Anomaly, the continuous release of Anomaly Agents pushes her down the tier list.
Koleda is a reliable Fire/Stun character in Zenless Zone Zero. With her natural ability to swiftly build enemies’ Daze, Koleda can be included in any team composition, especially the ones that have another Fire character. Her synergy with Ben isn’t only by stats, she also gains some new flashy movesets.
Corin is an Attack character who deals Physical DMG in Zenless Zone Zero. Her DMG excels when she’s doing a continuous extended slash DMG to Stunned enemies. You can do that by holding on to her EX Special Skill. The sad part is there’s already a Nekomata, which is a much better Physical Attack unit that can deal AoE DMG, and Piper, who is also much better at applying Physical Anomaly.
Anby is one of the best characters in Zenless Zone Zero, but not for her combat abilities, mostly because of her comedic timing during the story quest. Of course, she’s not at all weak during combat; instead, she’s really reliable as a Stun unit in her team. Anby’s combos are nice, quick, and get the job done, and for additional fun/utility, she deflects bullets while running. One bad thing about her is how easily she gets interrupted, especially compared to Agents of the same specialty.
Seth easily excels in his role as a shielder and support, but not at the same level as top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. This is especially due to Seth being a niche for Anomaly DPS, whereas ATK buffers are still beneficial for an Anomaly team, given Anomaly DMG scales with ATK. Seth also suffers from his Additional Ability, which only unlocks when he’s paired with Agents of the same attribute or factions.

Zenless Zone Zero: Current Banner, Next Banner, And Past Banners
Zenless Zone Zero featured banners always come with one S-Rank (5-star) and two rate-up A-Rank (4-star) characters.
Ben is the only defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0. He is fun to play because of his ability to parry and punish enemies. He also gives Koleda some new movesets that are also fun. Combat-wise, Ben is very slow and can’t offer any benefit to the team outside his Crit Rate buff. The shield is a decent protection, but while playing ZZZ, it’s better for players to master dodging than relying on a shield.
As an Attack unit, Nekomiya Mana, or Nekomata, can deal a lot of AoE DMG but relies heavily on her team to do so. As of the 1.0 tier list in Zenless Zone Zero, Nekomata struggles to find teammates who can help her, mostly because of her Element and Faction. At release, Physical is packed with DPS units, but her Faction only offers Nicole as a useful Support. Even though more Support Agents become available later, the game also releases highly powerful DPS that further bury Nekomata down the ZZZ tier list.
Billy sure does shout and shoot a lot, but doesn’t deal DMG that much for sure. As an Attack character, Billy works well in quick-swap teams where his Chain Attacks can be hurtful to enemies. However, many DPS characters, even Attack Physical ones, do a much better job at dealing DMG than Billy.
While Anton has an interesting Core Skill that allows him to continuously trigger Shock DMG, he suffers from a lack of DPS in his attacks. As an Attack/Electric unit, Anton needs to be the main DPS who takes the field and enemies by storm. Unfortunately, Anton is also a single-target unit, which further limits his DPS during combat.
