Genshin Impact has announced that the Special Program Announcement for Version 5.8 will be held on July 18, 2025, at 08:00 AM (UTC-4). The Natlan era is coming to an end with Version 5.8, and its closing ceremony will be held on the island where Natlan’s war with the Abyss first began – now repurposed into a summer resort. Genshin Impact will feature its first permanent Summer Event zone in Version 5.8, but it will also feature a separate storyline that delves into the mysteries of the Mare Jivari.
Furthermore, Ineffa is set to be a major highlight of Version 5.8. Not only will she be the game’s first Nod-Krai character, but the update will also feature her Story Quest and a Prologue for the upcoming region. In terms of gameplay, Ineffa in Genshin Impact is expected to be a premium support for Electro-Charged teams, providing a powerful shield on top of transforming the reaction into something better. While her numbers may not seem competitive in Version 5.8, it should be noted that Ineffa will be without her dedicated Artifact Set until Version 6.0.

As for the livestream itself, it will no doubt cover the quality-of-life improvements coming in Version 5.8, as well as showcase the new outfits for Yelan and Bennett in Genshin Impact. The Event Banners for the upcoming update are expected to be Ineffa, Mualani, Chasca, and Citlali, with Ineffa likely featuring in the first half of Version 5.8.
Curiously, the key art for Version 5.8 features Venti in the background, implying that the Anemo Archon will have some role to play in the upcoming update. Following Genshin Impact‘s reveal of the Four Shades in the latest interlude trailer, many players noticed that Istaroth shared voice actors with Venti across all supported languages. While the concept of Venti being a shade of Istaroth was known for a long time, many fans believe that the Anemo Archon is due to reveal a lot of secrets about the nature of Teyvat. Version 5.8 is set to launch on July 30, 2025.
