How to Jump Higher in DK Bananza (Jump Shot Guide)

Much like Tears of the Kingdom before it, Donkey Kong Bananza was built with verticality in mind. As a result, learning how to jump higher will be important for those hoping to track down every banana and fossil, as some of them are hidden away behind walls and other obstacles.

Thankfully, the game gives players a way to double jump, and there are ways to jump even higher still. The following guide will go over how to use the Jump Shot in Donkey Kong Bananza, while also discussing some additional methods for adding some extra height to your jumps.

How to Use the Jump Shot in DK Bananza (Double Jump)

Donkey Kong Bananza DK Skill Points Unlock First Skills jump shot

Before players can use the Jump Shot, they’ll first need to unlock it from the skills menu, which they can do using one skill point. After doing so, they’ll be able to perform a Jump Shot by tearing up a piece of the terrain (hold ZR), pressing A to jump, and then pressing A again while in mid-air. This effectively serves as a double jump, allowing players to get the additional height needed for those hard-to-reach collectibles.

    1. Unlock Jump Shot from the skills menu.
    2. Hold ZR to tear up a piece of terrain.
    3. While still holding the chunk of terrain, press the A button to jump.
    4. While in mid-air, press the A button again to Jump Shot.

How to Jump Higher in Donkey Kong Bananza

Using the Jump Shot isn’t the only way to improve one’s verticality in Donkey Kong Bananza. Players can also tear up and place a piece of terrain on the ground and then climb on top of it. By doing so, they’ll be able to jump a little higher, making it easier to get to those hard-to-reach Banandium Gems like the ones in Nostalgia Country and Thorny Hill Speed Surf. It’s even possible to stack multiple pieces of terrain and then Jump Shot while on top of them to pull off some ridiculously high jumps.

    1. Hold ZR to tear up a piece of terrain.
    2. Press the R button so that DK drops the piece of terrain.
    3. Climb on top of the piece of terrain and then jump from it.
