Nostalgic PlayStation 30th Anniversary Merch Celebrates the PSP

PlayStation Portable fans may be excited to learn that there’s some new merchandise coming out that celebrates the system. The PSP memorabilia is being released as part of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary celebration.

The PlayStation 30th anniversary celebration kicked off in 2024, and has continued into 2025. In addition to an anniversary sale on games, players have also been gifted a 30th Anniversary theme on their PlayStation 5 systems, and some special editions of PlayStation products have been released to celebrate the major anniversary.

    Best Sony PlayStation Consoles, Ranked

This definitive ranking compares all PlayStation consoles, portable and home, by their technical achievements and cultural influence.

While much of the PlayStation celebration has been based upon the home consoles, the original handheld isn’t being left out. GoodSmile has revealed its PlayStation 30th Anniversary PSP collection, which includes acrylic stands and keychains. Both appear to be three-dimensional replicas of the original PSP-1000 handhelds, with white and black versions. The neat thing about these is that both the stands and the keychains are filled with little acrylic pieces that are based upon the controller buttons and icons one would typically see on the PSP’s screen. They’re able to move around when the stands and keychains are shaken, and have been dubbed the “PSP Rattle Acrylic Stand” and “PSP Rattle Acrylic Keychain” for the sound they make when the icons are shaken up.

So far, GoodSmile hasn’t announced the exact size of these items, but it has shared a number of images detailing the front and back of the merch. The designs differ somewhat, as the acrylic stands are filled with monochrome icons, while the keychain versions utilize colorful versions, instead. The acrylic stands are priced at 1,760 yen, or $11.85 USD, while the keychains are priced lower at 1,320 yen, or $8.89 USD, based on currency values at the time of publication. So far, a release date hasn’t been announced for these items, with GoodSmile encouraging fans to “stay tuned.”

For PlayStation fans who would prefer to pick up something a bit more useful than a display piece, the 30th Anniversary products for the PS5 are getting restocked. The 30th Anniversary DualSense Controller, console bundle, and the PlayStation Portal, which feature designs in gray and black based on the original PlayStation system, initially sold out back in November 2024, and the new stock will be up for pre-order starting on July 23. Whether gamers are interested in the acrylic items or the actual PlayStation products, they should make sure to act quickly, as they’re all likely to sell out.
