The Most Selfless Devil Fruits in One Piece, Ranked

    Summary

    • Devil Fruit abilities in One Piece can be selfless, supporting allies rather than just enhancing the user.
    • Unique Devil Fruits like Barrier Barrier and Millet-Millet greatly aid allies in battles and missions.
    • Characters like Betty, Kin’emon, and Mansherry use their Devil Fruits to help and heal others selflessly.

The majority of Devil Fruit abilities seen throughout the series of One Piece tend to be very selfish and self-centered in how they work. For example, it’s not uncommon to see Devil Fruits that grant their hosts a sudden burst of power, or ones that are able to transform them into giant beasts to help them in combat, as is the case with the Zoan Fruits. It’s important to remember, however, that Devil Fruits abilities can take all types of weird and wacky forms, so it only makes sense that at least a few of them are moreso centered around helping others rather than the user.

Opponents are setting themselves up for a world of hurt if they underestimate these One Piece fighting styles.

This doesn’t mean these fruits can’t still be used in selfish ways, just that it’s clear they were primarily designed in order to support allies rather than just to enhance the person using them. Therefore, it’s time to take a closer look at the most selfless One Piece Devil Fruits, which any group of Pirates or Marines would always want on their team.

    8

    Pump-Pump Fruit

Betty Gets People Pumped Up To Fight For What They Truly Believe In

Belo Betty, the stylish member of the Revolutionary Army, has only been shown here and there so far throughout the story, but what’s been made clear in her brief screen time is that she is someone who possesses an incredible amount of power. Thanks to her Devil Fruit, Betty can encourage an entire swarm of civilians to rise up and fight on her behalf. There is, of course, the potential for Betty to use this in order to manipulate people for her own good, but as someone who identifies as a Revolutionary, she instead deploys her ability to help others in a time of need.

When she is first shown using the fruit, for example, it’s in order to help a group of bystanders stand up and defend their peaceful little town against the Peachbeard Pirates. Therefore, it can be a great help in assisting those who are unwilling, or simply unable to fight their own battles due to a lack of courage and willpower.

    Garb-Garb Fruit

Kine’Mon’s Fruit Ability Enables An Entire Team Of Soldiers To Disguise Themselves

Despite being a legendary samurai, Kin’emon’s Devil Fruit seems like a rather random ability for him to possess, considering it doesn’t have anything to do with sword fighting. In stark contrast, Kin’emon’s fruit enables him to create a set of clothes out of thin air for his allies to put on, and while this might sound pretty useless, it became hugely important during the raid on Onigashima, and also a little earlier on in Dressrosa.

These Devil Fruits had the biggest impact in One Piece.

Kin’emon was able to provide the entire Pirate, Mink, and Samurai alliance with Beast Pirate uniforms, allowing them to infiltrate Kaido’s ranks without anyone noticing a thing. While the fruit doesn’t give Kin’emon any instant benefits, it’s a very situational ability that proved to be a huge help for his allies during a highly intense and risky mission.

    6

    Barrier-Barrier Fruit

Bartolomeo Had No Quarrels Using His Barriers To Protect His Role Model From Danger

The Barrier-Barrier Fruit has had a pretty interesting history throughout the series. While it was once owned by the insidious witch known as Semimaru as a way to protect Orochi many years before the main story, it was eventually picked up by Bartolomeo, the Straw Hats’ self-proclaimed biggest fan. Because Bartolomeo’s barriers are incredibly durable, it means he is able to protect himself and his allies from incoming damage without needing to worry about his defense ever being shattered.

However, Bartolomeo has also used these barriers in a few other creative ways to help the Straw Hats out in taking down Doflamingo, such as when he created a massive staircase with barriers to help them to the top of the tower. He may be pretty clumsy, but Bartolomeo still has a heart of gold and is willing to use his barriers whenever necessary to defend his role models.

    5

    Millet-Millet Fruit

Animals Are Always Happy To Chow Down On Tama’s Self-Produced Dango

Otama might just have one of the strangest Devil Fruit abilities in the entire series, which is certainly saying something given the caliber of fruits that have been put on display. The young girl is able to create small balls of dango by pulling on her own cheeks, and while humans are more than safe to eat it, the most effective way for Otama to use it is in order to tame and even control animals, including animalistic humans.

There are numerous points throughout the Wano arc where Otama uses this unique ability in order to assist the Straw Hats and the other allied pirates. For example, it was Otama’s fruit that encouraged the guards at Udon to let Luffy and the others go, and she even used it to calm down a few of the Beast Pirates towards the end of the battle, too. While it can end up being a little painful for her to use over and over again in a short period, Otama was still willing to use her quirky Devil Fruit ability whenever necessary to help out Luffy.

    4

    Bird-Bird Fruit: Model Phoenix

Marco Is Able To Patch His Allies Up With Regenerative Blue Flames

Marco has always been considered a vital member of the Whitebeard crew, not only because he is a lethal airborne fighter, but also due to his healing properties. Marco’s Ancient Phoenix fruit is a little strange in how it works, as while it’s more than capable of dishing out some severe damage, as was made crystal clear in the Marineford War, Marco can also utilize the phoenix’s blue flames to heal others.

The exact speed of the healing can depend on the person and their injury, but it does end up making him a rather selfless character who is always looking out for others. Even after the Whitebeard crew disbanded, Marco could be seen hanging out on Sphinx Island, where he spends much of his time patching up the humans and animals who reside in the area, despite the fact that, if he were a villain, he could easily use his power to wreak havoc across the land.

    3

    Op-Op Fruit

Law Can Save People From Immediate Danger With His Immensely Powerful Devil Fruit

The Op Op no Mi is one of those Devil Fruits that can be used as both an offensive tool and the supportive one, but because of the benefits it can grant to Law’s allies, it’s hard not to include it on this list. When he was still a young boy, Law was able to extract the Ambear Lead disease from his own body, meaning he could presumably also perform this kind of surgery on other people if they ever caught a deadly illness.

One Piece: 5 Most Overrated Devil Fruits

Some One Piece Devil Fruits are not nearly as good as one may initially perceive them to be. Here are the most overrated ones of the bunch.

Another way Law is able to assist allies is by teleporting them in the blink of an eye. With the snap of his fingers, Law can ensure his comrades don’t get taken out by a sudden attack, with a prime example of this being when he was shifting around Zoro, Killer, and the others in their epic fight against Kaido and Big Mom. After all, Law is the doctor of his crew at the end of the day, so having a fruit that enables him to literally rearrange a person’s organs can come in very handy anytime Bepo and the others pick up some serious injuries.

    2

    Horm Horm Fruit

Ivankov’s Unique Ability Can Keep Her Allies Going When A Fight Starts Looking A Little Dire

By creating special hormones and pumping them into a person’s body with the use of her fruit ability, Ivankov is capable of granting her allies unique powers that can help give them a boost in combat. For example, while this includes enhancing a person’s physical strength and willpower, it can even be used to fend off illness and disease through boosting their immune system.

Luffy would rely heavily on Ivankov’s powers throughout the Impel Down arc, always turning to her anytime he picked up a nasty injury or needed just one more adrenaline boost to make it through to the end. While it’s clear Ivankov takes great pleasure in testing out her experimental fruit on new subjects, it’s ultimately very selfless in the way it works, and a Devil Fruit that most characters would no doubt love to get their hands on if they could.

    1

    Heal Heal Fruit

A Classic Healing Ability Which Restores Others Back To Full Speed

In most series, the healing ability would often go to a crucial key character, considering how important this is for keeping people going along the adventure. In One Piece, though, it is possessed by a side character by the name of Mansherry, who fans might remember from the Dressrosa arc. While it may not be all that flashy or complex, the Heal Heal Fruit is an ability that every pirate crew would want to have on their team.

The way it works is, Mansherry is able to use her own tears to create a source of healing, which will then medicate any injuries or serious wounds to keep her allies going. This doesn’t benefit Mansherry in any way, and if anything, it’s actually more harmful, considering she needs to cry in order for it to work, but it’s still astonishing just how effective this fruit is for supporting those around her.
