The third part of Lost Ark‘s 2025 roadmap is set to start rolling out, with its Paradise progression system right around the corner. The late July update will kick off this section in Lost Ark‘s roadmap, with many new features and changes on the way.
Lost Ark celebrated its third anniversary this year, with the North American/European version of the game fast catching up to its older Korean counterpart. Coinciding with these festivities is the game’s big 2025 roadmap, which is now entering its third phase. Game Rant spoke to Amazon Games franchise lead Matthew Huston who spoke on what players can expect from the roadmap going forward from the huge Paradise progression system expansion to the upcoming advanced class, Valkyrie.

Lost Ark’s 2025 Roadmap Part 3 Explained
Paradise Progression System
Q: How much new content can players expect from Paradise?
Huston: Paradise breaks down into three distinct dungeon modes: Elysian, Crucible, and Hell. Elysian is where you’ll farm gear that is separate from your normal gear. Crucible is where you’ll test this new gear as you climb the ladder, while Hell is a jackpot-style mode that stands apart from the first two. Paradise is broken into ongoing seasons, and gives players something to work toward beyond just raiding, while it creates additional progression paths for alt characters.
Q: The team mentioned that part of the goal with Paradise is to ‘speed up’ player progression. Why was this pursued, and how has Paradise been balanced with the rest of the game’s content?
A: Anyone who plays the game knows that the end-game loop can get static. Whether you’re new, returning, or just have lower-level alts, we wanted to add more ways to improve progression beyond pushing players into solo mode or tweaking gold raid. Paradise has a lower entry requirement (gear level 1580) and offers plenty of opportunities for rewards and gold to help your character progress. You can still do solo mode, raids, and events alongside Paradise… this new system just adds more progression options while freshening up the end-game loop.
Q: The Paradise progression system is being touted as something designed specifically for the game’s global version. Can you talk more about the system’s design goals in reference to the global version?
A: These kinds of updates are iterated on over time, and the goal for Paradise was to help the global regions as they are under a different kind of pressure to keep up with the Korean version of the game. Over the years, we’ve gotten closer and closer to the Korean version of Lost Ark, and at times, this puts pressure on Western players as we shorten windows. Players can sometimes experience the reverse of having too much of a gap between releases of content between Korea and the West. The intended design of Paradise is to serve as seasonal-based content, and it really finds its sweet spot by supporting adjustments in the roadmap. If you watched LOA ON, you’ll also notice the general direction shifting, so we look forward to getting player feedback and iterating on this over time.
Q: Paradise is described as being ‘experimental.’ What is precisely meant by this?
A: It’s experimental because it’s not your typical Lost Ark gear progression. Legacy of Paradise gear is isolated to be used in Paradise/Crucible only. Your Crucible progress depends on your Elysian progress. Similar to Kurzan Front, you’ll farm “Legacy of Paradise” gear, and when you find that right piece, you can improve it with two new systems (Restore and Resonance). While this progression won’t cost gold, you’ll need farmed restoration stones for the new progression system. After getting a piece to level 9 or higher, you can further tweak it using resonance to adjust sub-stats, aiming for SS rating.
There’s a seasonal element, leaderboards, and rewards that benefit your standard progression outside of Paradise too. We’re excited to see this new content working alongside existing progression paths and will be able to provide further details on all of this, real soon.
Q: Will fans be able to expect any special traits from Legacy of Paradise gear?
A: Absolutely! While you’ll need to wait for our full announcement for all the details, there are several special effects tied to legendary tier or higher gear. I’ll just tease that there are 18 special effects to discover.

Lost Ark’s new Wild Soul advanced class will be introduced in February, and Game Rant spoke with an Amazon Games dev about it.
Lost Ark’s New Advanced Class
Q: Can you elaborate on some of the game’s upcoming quality-of-life changes, and which of them you see as being the most pressing/impactful?
A: We’ve made several Quality-of-Life improvements, but the key changes include reducing dailies. Guardian and Kurzan Front are now once a day and Una’s tasks are removed after finishing their rapport elements. We’ve also nerfed endgame raids, updated solo modes and adjusted endgame progression costs for things like Advanced Honing and Transcendence. For Advanced Honing specifically, materials needed from 1-20 were cut in half, and silver/gold costs were reduced by 20%. Many more QoL changes are coming in July, so keep an eye on our release notes.
Q: What can fans expect from the Prestige Shop, and what new value will it be offering to players?
A: The Prestige Shop will work similarly to other regions, with items specifically priced based on Royal Crystal spend in the Western region. We’re also giving back Mileage points for RC spent on your account from launch until this feature releases, since we want players to feel rewarded for their past spend as well. It’ll be a 10% conversion rate, and you’ll earn additional mileage points based on future RC spending. We’ll share the full list of shop items at a later date.
Q: What can fans expect from Valkyrie? How will she compare with Paladin (especially in the sense of aesthetic/animation)?
A: While Valkyrie is the Paladin counterpart, she’s uniquely designed around the flexibility to be either support or DPS, whereas Paladin is primarily a support class. If you’ve played Paladin, you’ll find Valkyrie’s general combat and movement feel similar, but her mobility is really fun and worth checking out. We will have an additional event on top of July’s events, lined up when she launches, that will help you level her up quickly.
Q: How has the use of a roadmap system been working out for the team? What are the benefits of using a roadmap for an online game as opposed to keeping update details more under wraps?
A: We use a roadmap system because we feel there are real benefits to our roadmap videos and team updates, as they let us be transparent with our players. Since content releases in Korea months ahead of us, new classes like Valkyrie aren’t exactly secrets. The roadmap approach lets us address questions Western players have while still keeping certain things under wraps for bigger moments or engagement opportunities.
