- Creators: Grag Pak, Ron Garney, Jackson Guice, Jack Kirby, Stan Lee
The Family of Hulks is a makeshift progeny of individuals all affected by gamma radiation that has transformed them into indomitable giants with anger issues. At the head of the household is Bruce Banner, also known as the Incredible Hulk. Considered the strongest there is, Hulk grows stronger the angrier he gets, with one of his most extraordinary feats being going one-on-one with The Sentry. Next in line is Jennifer Walters, Bruce’s cousin and the sensational She-Hulk. Receiving her powers from a blood transfusion with Bruce, she retains more control over her transformation and doesn’t lose control often when becoming enraged. While not as strong as her cousin, She-Hulk has become one of the most dependable heroes across multiple Avengers teams. Skar is the only son of the Hulk, born from his union with Caiera on Sakar. Skar has his father’s transformation ability but draws from his mother’s oldstrong power, allowing him to tap into the tectonic inertia of planets and increase his strength tenfold.

He has faced off against the Hulk himself and other equally powerful opponents such as Thor as Red Hulk. Betty, Bruce’s former flame, was resurrected after her death and granted gamma powers, transforming her into the Red She-Hulk. Both Betty’s and her father’s powers differ significantly from those of Bruce and Jennifer. Together, these four individuals in one place could turn the entire area into a wasteland simply by clapping their hands.
The Xaviers
Characters Who Define The Term Omega-Level Mutant
- Immediate Members: Charles Zavier, Cassandra Nova, Cain Marko, David Haller
- Creators: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Grant Morrison, Frank Quietly
The Xavier family is one of the most chaotic families of mutants in the Marvel Comics universe, with each one being more unpredictable than the last. The only seemingly level-headed member of the family is Charles Xavier, the head. The founder of the Xavier Institute, he has shaped the lives of countless mutants, serving as a mentor to the entire mutant community, and seeks to usher them into a safer future. Xavier is the most powerful telepathic mind in the world, possessing a wealth of wisdom and tactics that make him an astute leader to the X-Men. Next in line is Charles’ half-brother, Cain Marko. Also known as the Juggernaut, Marko spent most of his life hating his brother and assumed the Juggernaut persona to wreak havoc throughout Xavier’s life. Marko possesses the mutant ability to manipulate his size, but when attached to a magical jewel, he becomes virtually unstoppable.
Cassandra Nova is Charles Xavier’s forgotten twin, who lay dormant within her brother’s body until hatching a scheme to obtain a vessel of her own. Casandra is every bit the telepath her brother is, but more cruel and unhinged. However, what sets her apart from her brother is her origin as a child of the astral plane, which grants her several traits and abilities her brother does not have. Lastly, there is the son of Charles Xavier, David Haller, also known as Legion. A troubled youth, David was born with a multitude of mutant abilities, including the ability to warp reality and create alternate dimensions. Unfortunately, David is mentally unbalanced and suffers from split-personality disorder, making him a threat that must be constantly monitored.
The Summers
A Powerful Force Whose Presence Stretches To The Stars
- Immediate Members: Scott Summers, Alex Summers, Gabriel Summer, Christopher Summers
- Creators: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Arnold Drake, Don Heck, Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum, Ed Brubaker, Trevor Hairsine
The Summers family is one of the most colorful and most dangerous families in Marvel Comics. Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, is the most prominent member, a longtime leader of the X-Men, and a pivotal figure within the mutant community. Scott is a self-assured and straightforward leader who can fire powerful optic blasts from his eyes. The second of the Summers brothers is Alex, also known as Havoc. Not as much of a Boy Scout as his brother, Havoc has a strong sense of right and wrong, but has his own way of doing things that often puts him and Scott at odds. Like most of the Summers children, Alex can manipulate energy, but unlike his brother, he is able to absorb cosmic energy and radiate it outward from his body; this makes him closer to Gabriel, the third of the Summers brothers.
Gabriel is one of the black sheep of the Summers family. He was born in the Shi’ar Empire and kept as a slave until he escaped to Earth. Gabriel’s harsh upbringing gives him a darker moral complex than his brother, which led him to return to Shi’ar and take over. Gabriel possesses perfect energy manipulation, capable of absorbing, controlling, and generating all forms of energy, including elements. Gabriel is considered the strongest of the Summers brothers, as he can harness and manipulate their powers while also being immune to them. Lastly, Corsair, or Christopher Summers, is the father of the boys and was long thought dead until he reemerged in space leading a gang of space pirates.
The Richards Household
The Most Magnificent Superhero Family In History
- Immediate Members: Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, Ben Grimm
- Creators: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby
The Richards family, more commonly known as The Fantastic Four, is one of the most significant families in Marvel Comics, with a rich history of saving the world on numerous occasions. Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben became more than long-time friends by acquiring strange abilities after coming in contact with radiation from space. Reed Richards gained the ability to elongate any part of his body, including his mind. As one of the most intelligent people in the world, he is responsible for countless inventions, one of which even defeated Galactus.
