Wuchang Fallen Feathers features a wide array of boss battles that will put the player’s skill to the test. While you’ll have to brave most of the bosses alone, some key battles will allow Wuchang to call an NPC for assistance. These battles are few and far between, but having an NPC kite the boss away while you launch a full-scale offensive will tremendously help you come out on top. So, here’s how to use the Bone Whistle to call NPCs for assistance.

Should You Expose Nian Suichang or Remain Silent in Wuchang Fallen Feather?
After reaching Cloudspire in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, players will get an option to hand over the Tattered Pack to Nian Suichang and expose him.
Where to Find the Bone Whistle
Players can get the Bone Whistle early on in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. The primary way to get the Bone Whistle is to talk to Nian Suichang at the Narrow Stretch while traveling to the Shu Sanctum from Lightzen Temple. He’ll be standing next to a tree, and agreeing to help him find healing elixirs for his injured brother will grant you the Bone Whistle, to summon Nian Suichang during key battles.
If you’ve somehow missed talking to Nian Suichang, you can buy the Bone Whistle from Tao Qing in the Shu Sanctum. To do that, you’ll first need to beat the Feathered Priest – Lu Bingzhang on top of Shu Sanctum. Once you do that, hand over the Priest’s Broken Cane to Tao Qing, and you’ll be able to purchase the Bone Whistle from him for 500 Red Mercury.
How to Use the Bone Whistle in Wuchang Fallen Feathers
Bone Whistle sadly isn’t an item you can use anywhere to call an NPC for assistance in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. Some key boss fights allow you to summon an ally for help if the narrative allows it. To know which boss fights let you summon NPCs, you’ll need to check the bottom of the screen for a message that reads, “You can use the Bone Whistle to call an ally.”
However, before the boss fight starts, make sure to equip the Bone Whistle in the quick-use item slot. While you can use it by heading into the inventory tab, it’ll leave you vulnerable to the boss’s attacks, which will take a big chunk off your health from the get-go. Once you use the Bone Whistle, an appropriate ally will join the fight and kite the boss away from you, giving you a massive opening to land hits on the boss in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.
Keep an eye on the summoned companion’s health bar, as once it depletes, you won’t be able to summon them for the rest of the fight.
