This post contains spoilers for Lord of Mysteries.
Lord of Mysteries has truly been a revelation of the Summer 2025 anime season. The series began airing in late June and has since released six more episodes, each more impressive than the other. Recently, Lord of Mysteries aired its sixth episode, and it completely mesmerized the audience, leading to rather rave reviews.

Lord of Mysteries Episode 6 Was A Masterpiece
Lord of Mysteries Episode 6 was special for several reasons. The episode contained information related to influential characters like Azik Eggers and Klein Moretti. Since the anime is still very new, it’s always exciting to learn new things about the characters. Azik Eggers made his debut a few episodes ago, and it was clear that he was hiding something. The suspicions got stronger after a mysterious entity appeared from the shadows, and it seemed to be on good terms with Azik Eggers.
Lord of Mysteries is known for its stellar animation, but Episode 6 took things to a whole different level. The visuals were gorgeous, and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it was on the same level as a movie. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Lord of Mysteries Episode 6 is better than anything Solo Leveling has produced in terms of overall quality.
With such a high level of production, it’s hardly a surprise that Lord of Mysteries Episode 6 scored a rating of 9.4 on IMDb. What makes this even more impressive is that the episode has been review bombed by fans. Currently, the episode has 103 one-star reviews, which is a clear indication of some mischief by fans. In most cases, review bombing is done by people from other fan bases. It’s unfortunate, but there’s nothing that can be done about it.
Lord of Mysteries Is Better Than Solo Leveling
Lord of Mysteries Has Better Story And Characters
- Lord of Mysteries has the edge two main departments
- Solo Leveling is still a great action anime
Solo Leveling is easily one of the best action anime. A-1 Pictures has done a phenomenal job, which is why both the seasons are universally adored. But when fans go past the action, there is a rather mediocre story. One of the biggest problems is that almost every arc ends in the same way. i.e., Sung Jinwoo faces a strong opponent, and after struggling for a while, he eventually overpowers them. Due to the repetition, the story becomes stale rather quickly. The lack of good side characters is another issue. Sung Jinwoo is certainly an interesting character, but the others are either too weak to make a difference or they lack any standout qualities.
Lord of Mysteries’ anime adaptation is not perfect, but it’s much better than Solo Leveling. The story is complex enough to keep the audience glued to their screens. Since the story is multifaceted, it is not linear like Solo Leveling. The characters in Lord of Mysteries are unique, and the anime explores their stories, which makes them appealing to the audience.
Lord of Mysteries May Win Anime Of The Year Over Solo Leveling
Lord of Mysteries Might Claim The Biggest Award
The Anime of the Year is an award given to the ‘best’ anime of the year. These awards are given out by many organizations, but the one held by Crunchyroll seems to hold a bit more value (mainly because of the company’s fame). Recently, Solo Leveling won the award, and the decision was quite polarizing, especially when the other nominees were much better.
Lord of Mysteries will have ended by the time the next Crunchyroll Awards take place, and it’s very likely that the anime will be among the nominees. But the likelihood depends on various factors. For starters, an anime’s popularity will certainly be a factor. Currently, Lord of Mysteries has more than 35,000 ratings on Crunchyroll. It is certainly impressive, but it pales in comparison to other anime, like Solo Leveling, One Piece, Dandadan, My Hero Academia, and Spy x Family. The panel of judges also plays a crucial role in the nomination. So, fans shouldn’t disregard their involvement in the selection of the eventual winner.
At any rate, it is too early to make a call on whether Lord of Mysteries will win the award, but what is clear is that the anime deserves to be nominated for it.
