Once players defeat Grumpy Kong in Donkey Kong Bananza, they will gain access to the SL301, which is a sublayer in Canyon Layer. This is the second and final layer in this map. In total, Canyon Layer has 79 Banandium Gems for players to collect and 19 of them are are found in SL301.

This sublayer is particularly complicated because even though the main story of Donkey Kong Bananza doesn’t require a lot of back and forth compared to Lagoon Layer’s quest where players had to fix the water shortage, gamers who want to 100 percent this level will still have to go up and down between layers a few times, especially since various bananas in SL301 are hidden in pipes and can only be reached from above, meaning they will have to come from a higher level.
SL301 Banana #61 – Beat Grumpy Kong!
To get the first banana bunch in SL301, players will have to defeat Grumpy Kong in SL300. This is also how players will gain access to the next sublevel.
SL301 Banana #62 – Battle: Laser-Wall Brawl
Players will find a challenge portal hidden behind a window in this area. Here, they will have to fight three Crockoids. One is behind a one-laser wall , so it is fairly easy to jump over it. The other one is behind a two-laser wall that gamers access by grabbing a piece of terrain and hitting the Jump button twice. The last Crockoid is behind a three-laser wall; players must dig a hole underneath in order to reach the other side.
SL301 Banana #63 – The Refinery’s Hidden Hallway
Players must go into the hidden passage, defeat the monsters inside, and use the Kong Bananza transformation to break the concrete door to enter the chamber where the Banandium Gem is hidden.
SL301 Banana #64 – Peak’s Peek at the Refinery
This Banandium Gem is seemingly in an inaccessible area in SL301. However, if players analyze the layer above it, they will be able to find an entrance.

To get this gem, players will want to teleport to the Big-Stretch Base Getaway location in SL300, and then walk around the side of the cliff, drop down near the area with the glowing substance, and enter the cave down below. Inside, there is a pipe, but concrete blocks its top. Players must climb the wall and get onto the platform above it, drop down, and turn into Kong Bananza to destroy the concrete and go down the pipe. Below, players will be able to collect Banana #64 in Canyon Layer.

SL301 Banana #65 – Asleep in a Dormitory
There is a banana hidden in one of the structures that players will pass by when riding the rail cart from the Banandium Refinery Gravel Storage. While on the cart, players should collect Boom Rocks and throw them at the structure to break its outside. Then, they can jump off onto it and grab the banana.
SL301 #66 – Surveying the Staff Dorms
Banandium Gem #66 is one of the several bananas that can only be reached if players head to SL300. Gamers should teeleport to the Warp Gong location in SL300, climb the pipe that is right beside the gong, and then turn into Kong Bananza to break the concrete blocking it so they can go down and retrieve the banana.
SL301 #67 – Tucked Away in a Dormitory
This banana is in a room near the Banandium Refinery Terrace Getaway.
SL301 #68 – Battle: Leaps Over the Laser
To initiate this challenge, players must break the Void Kong seal and enter the manhole. They must then take down two monsters within 30 seconds. These monsters have a concrete foot, so the best way to attack them is to turn into Kong Bananza. Players must also avoid the lasers going around the battlefield while fighting.
SL301 #69, #70, and #71 – Laser-Zone Crossing, Laying Low in the Laser Zone, and Laser-Zone End Point
The Spinning Laser Zone has three bananas for players to uncover. While the first and third ones can be found naturally simply by doing the course, the second one requires them to destroy the ground beneath them halfway through the course. SL301 #72 – De-Voiding the Dorms
Players must clear the voided terrain in the Refinery Terrace area of Canyon Layer. They can do this by following it into the room with the lasers, climbing up the wall to avoid them, singing to clear the seal from the mask, and then punching it. Once the terrain is clear, gamers can collect this banana.
SL301 #73 – Beat the Mad Mixer!
Gamers must play through the main story of Donkey Kong Bananza and beat the Mad Mixer, the boss in SL301. Once it’s been defeated, a banana bunch will appear.
SL301 #74 – Mad Mixer’s Party Gift
Near the area where players defeated the Mad Mixer boss and close to the Banandium Refinery Gravel Storage checkpoint, players will find the an area filled with gravel. There are gravel mounds here, and underneath one of them, there is a hidden banana. Players must punch the ground to break it and find the banana.
SL301 #75 – Dropped into the Refinery Depths!
To get this next banana bunch, gamers will have to destroy the Void mask on top of the smokestack in SL300 and then drop back down to SL301.
SL301 Banana #76 – Shifty Smash: Moving Targets
Close to Boom Rock where the Triceratops fossil was, players will find a floating substance that they can punch to activate a timed challenge. Gamers have 20 seconds to destroy the cubes that will appear in the distance. They must do this using the nearby Boom Rock. The cubes will continuously move left and right so they will have to calculate where to throw the rock in order to get it to collide with them and destroy them before the timer ends.
SL301 Banana #77 – Treasure by the Triceratops
Players must visit the area where they found the Triceratops fossil. Here, they will find a banana hiding underneath a tall dirt pile.
SL301 Banana #78 – Under Twin-Horn Smokestacks
If players head to Longneck Plateau Village (SL300) and climb down the cliff that’s located by the Warp Gong, they can ask the Fractone nearby to construct a minecart that leads to the secluded area nearby. Here, they can break open the concrete covering one of the pipes and go down to SL301 where this banana is hiding.
SL301 Banana #79 – Hanging Hallway Over the Refinery
Players will need to return to SL300 in order to reach Banana #79 in SL301. If players have a look at their map, they will notice a giant pipe between Longneck Plateau Getaway and Longneck Plateau Village. The top is covered by a Void Kong mask, which gamers can remove using DK’s fists. Then, all they have to do is jump down and grab the gem.
