Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise, a Nintendo Switch-exclusive title, will be removed from the Nintendo eShop on November 28. However, not all regions are listing that Fitness Boxing 2 is being removed, so fans of fitness games may still be able to purchase the Fitness Boxing sequel to complete their collection.
When Fitness Boxing 2 was introduced in December 2020, the game was met with high sales in the first month with over 500,000 units sold. In January 2021, Nintendo added the first DLC pack to Fitness Boxing 2, just weeks after the game’s release. The workout game mixes boxing maneuvers with popular songs by artists like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Marshmellow.
Fitness Boxing 2 will be Delisted by Nintendo UK on November 28
According to the Nintendo UK eShop website, Fitness Boxing 2 will be delisted on November 28. The demo will be removed and the game will no longer be available for purchase. Players who have previously purchased the digital software will still be able to re-download the game and download any software updates that are available after that time. The shop does not state whether the game’s DLC will still be available for purchase after the delisting. Fitness Boxing 2 released surprise DLC packs in 2023 that included new music and workouts to follow the previously released free No Mercy intensity DLC pack.
As of this time, the U.S. and Japan Fitness Boxing 2 descriptions do not list the same message as the UK eShop. When Nintendo announced it would remove Fitness Boxing from the eShop, the news was not listed in the Americas but the game was eventually removed from the eShop. There’s no word as to why Fitness Boxing 2 is being delisted, but some potential reasons could include the expiration of the music licenses.
While the Fitness Boxing series hasn’t replaced the popularity of Nintendo’s Wii Fit series, the games still gained enough traction for Nintendo to release crossover games. Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star, a crossover with the Fist of the North Star games, released in March 2023. The game gives fans of the series a chance to work out with some of their favorite characters. In September 2024, Hatsune Miku fans were treated to Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku, and Fitness Boxing 3 was released in December 2024. Nintendo added the first DLC pack for Fitness Boxing 3 on July 31, which features tracks from three different anime series, including Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death.
