Behaviour Interactive has recently confirmed to fans that it’s working on adding a hugely popular Fortnite feature to Dead by Daylight—a Gifting System. Dead by Daylight players have long been asking for a feature like this, though Behaviour had said that some issues were preventing the developer from adding it—but that has changed now.
Dead by Daylight‘s asymmetric horror experience has evolved quite significantly over the years, thanks to the consistent support of Behaviour. As a live service game, Dead by Daylight is constantly changing, with the developer always bringing new stuff for fans, like new features, collaborations with new playable characters, updates, and more. On July 25, players are going to be treated to a crossover between Dead by Daylight and The Walking Dead, adding new characters and locations. Continuing with the game’s evolution, Behaviour has plenty of plans for 2025, though there was one highly requested Fortnite feature that wasn’t certain to be added—until now.

Dead by Daylight’s Grimoire Explained
Over the years, Dead by Daylight has engaged the community in a variety of fun ways, but the Grimoire is one of the most intriguing yet.
During a recent Dead by Daylight AMA, Behaviour addressed plenty of fans’ questions, touching upon the possibility of adding a Gifting System like Fortnite’s to the horror multiplayer game—confirming the feature is in the works. Reddit user Background-Drink82 organized all of the devs’ answers in a comprehensive post, noting that Behaviour said it has a design for the Gifting feature and is now “discussing the security and safety measures.” For those who were hoping to see this feature added soon, the developer has unfortunately announced it’s planned for April 2026—though it said the date may change.
Dead by Daylight Plans to Introduce Gifting System in April 2026
For those unfamiliar, Fortnite’s gifting system allows players to basically send cosmetic content like skins, emotes, and even real-money Battle Passes directly to friends via the Item Shop. It’s unclear whether this system will work in the same way in Dead by Daylight, and Behaviour hasn’t disclosed any details yet, only saying that the team already has a design for the feature.
On top of the Gifting System, Behaviour commented on many more pieces of content and features it plans to add to the popular Dead by Daylight in the future. Some of these include an improved and more accurate chat filter to ban aggressive players’ comments, a Skull Merchant rework for 2026, more Licensed Killers in 2v8, and new themed Maps. Surprisingly, Behaviour has also revealed it would like to release a documentary showing behind-the-scenes content for fans to see how the characters and their stories were crafted—though this is only an idea, and there are no clear dates for when it will happen. While players wait until April 2026, the Gifting System is finally on its way to Dead by Daylight.
