Context matters when considering what supply stratagems players equip in Helldivers 2. Of course, some stratagem choices will be far better than others depending on the situation, such as if players are diving into a Blitz mission or a Spread Democracy mission, since certain scenarios in Helldivers 2 take advantage of a hammer while others take advantage of a scalpel. Players have myriad options between defensive, offensive, and supply stratagems for loadouts to meet these contextual demands, and the ones that prove to be more versatile are likely to remain in players’ loadouts across various missions.
Helldivers 2’s latest Minor Order read:
-
Exterminate Spore Burst Warriors using the designated weaponry to further boost citizen patriotic fervor.
- Kill 5,000,000 Spore Burst Warriors on Fori Prime with the Stalwart.
As per the most recent Helldivers 2 Minor Order/Strategic Opportunity, the swiftness with which players hastened its success suggests a couple of things: one, Bugdivers thrive and are often punctual when it comes to Orders that send them to Terminid planets; and two, the M-105 Stalwart is a formidable supply stratagem that may not be optimal in every circumstance but shouldn’t be idly overlooked nonetheless.

Helldivers 2’s Latest Minor Order May Have Tossed a Bug-Sized Wrench into Its Major Order
Helldivers 2 is once more on the cusp of failing a Major Order, and its latest Minor Order, while fantastic, may be somewhat to blame.
Helldivers 2’s Stalwart is a Knife in the Dark
For many players who’ve been accustomed to supply stratagem permits thus far, the Minor Order that was associated with Helldivers 2’s current Major Order only further cemented how terrific the Stalwart is. It won’t punch holes into a Factory Strider or Leviathan, but it’s a treat for the sheer amount of ammunition held in each magazine and how neatly it cuts fodder enemies down.
Therefore, the Stalwart is perfectly capable of vanquishing lesser enemy swarms in all of Helldivers 2’s enemy factions, meaning it is a great crowd-control stratagem that doesn’t require a backpack or stationary reloads, is as easy to wield as a concealable switchblade, and has its ammo replenished via ordinary ammo loot pickups. The description for the Stalwart in Helldivers 2’s ship management menu reads:
“A compact, low caliber machine gun. Trades power for ease of use, with faster reloading than heavier machine guns.”
The Stalwart may not be wholly advisable as a supply stratagem on bot planets, despite Troopers being eviscerated by it as cleanly as squids’ Voteless and several bug enemy types, simply because so many other Helldivers 2 supply stratagems are more meaningfully valuable when players should be concerned with obliterating fabricators and not jobber clanker mobs.
M-105 Stalwart stratagem availability, which was granted for the duration of the Minor Order, has ended. Rather, one arsenal augmentation is in effect following the 100% completion of Impalers killed, temporarily and freely adding the E/MG-101 HMG Emplacement to players’ loadouts, as well as the Orbital Railcannon Strike for seizing the Strategic Opportunity and the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank as part of an unprecedented Major Order augmentation. Ironically, only the EAT will presumably have any effect on whether the present Major Order succeeds, and Helldivers 2’s Stalwart will also be of no use in this quest.
That said, it’s a fantastic supply stratagem to equip if players wish for a formidable ‘sidearm’ that can clear mobs cleanly and effectively. This frees players’ loadout tremendously, as they can then select a heftier primary (such as the LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle, R-36 Eruptor, or SMG-32 Reprimand) and secondary weapon (such as the GP-20 Ultimatum or P-4 Senator) combination alongside offensive and defensive stratagems (such as the Orbital 380MM HE Barrage or E/AT-12 Anti-Tank Emplacement), without sacrificing a cunning blade that can be sunk into the midsection of the following enemies:
- Automatons’ Commissars and Troopers.
- Illuminate Fleshmobs, Overseers, Voteless, and Watchers.
- Terminids’ Bile Spitters, Hunters, Nursing Spewers, Pouncers, Scavengers, and Warriors.
